Sol "rift"

    I finally


    hunted down all of the data disks and located the "special" jump


    point.


    Unfortunately, I could not dock, or use it.


    I was playing the full


    Crossfire 1.52 with the OpenSP addon.


    Do I have to go through the entire SP mission


    game or did I do something wrong or miss something (wouldn't surprise me at this


    point)?

    downlaoding process? (e.g corrupt/damaged file?)

    strange, the ONLY problem i encouterd is


    this: i am scouting all over the sector for an hour. results: me very mad at the fact i


    can't go fast and did'nt finded the rift. i did it at OPEN SP with speed mod works fine.


    but MP, houres just to search it for the first time!

    Yeah, the downloads for both 1.52 and the


    OpenSP came down broadband in fine shape and were installed over a new install of Freelancer


    as per instructions. I played this during the OpenSP version without the SP missions.




    Actually, I have run into no other problems as far as hiccups, glitches or crashes,


    and the MOD appears to be operating as it should.


    For some reason I could not select


    the rift and I flew through at about 25K to make sure I didn't miss it. Went all the way


    through.


    I'll go back out there tonight and see if I can get docked.


    If not


    will report back or wait for further instructions.

    You need to go very close to the rift then dock with it

    You said you couldn't lock onto it? Change your scanner to solars and the Dimensional


    Rift should be right there. If you did that, then um...ignore me.

    I can dock 10k away and its still the size as a large astroid? I dont have to fly into


    it or nothing. simple click on it then presss F3.

    I found out what happened the first time out there.


    I use a 4-button


    wheel mouse with "dock" set to a thumb button so I don't have to use the menus. But I


    couldn't highlight the rift and therefore would not dock.


    Silly me, I forgot


    completely about the Solars menu and sure enough it turned up and I went on up to Styx.


    Yea!!


    Unfortunately I got my butt kicked terribly, so I have a lot more work ahead of


    me now....LOL.


    Also, the level 0 Mk9 armor plugin only lasted about 0.5


    nanoseconds.


    Again, thanks and I guess now I gotta go back to Sirius and hunt down


    molecular shields instead of the lvl-10 gravitons I have now - they cut through that like


    hot butter. :-(

    1. level 0 armour? O-o......if your using the stuff that says it replaces the armour


    with a lighter substance found at Planet Juno then your doing it wrong....terribly

    2. best shields are Lvl 10 Adv. Champs in Higura, jumphole located about


    20-30k Northwest of Kyoto Base in Chugoko. But the system is a maze of jumpholes. And make


    sure your at least neutral with the Blood Dragons.
