If I had the chance to go to Mars, the furthest thing on mu mind would be coming back .... Imagine the thrill of turning over a rock and knowing you are the first human (current generation) to see it ...

because from einsteins theroy everything which wants to travel faster than light would become infinite in mass which would need infinite energy. Neutrinos have at least a math detected mass which makes it lets say path-breaking for physical theories and shows that moving faster than light is possible instead of being impossible. Every big discovery ones started small.
Traveling near light speed would make you also sitting in a "time machine", so - i agree i would not like it too, most of the ppl. i would miss.
