extract AI from mod

  • hey, could anyone suggest me:


    I want to go through storyline from original game.
    But the AI in original game is very stupid and that's what is no fun to me.
    DIFFICULTY_SCALE change in perfoptions.ini is not a solution - all NPCs in any case are such a stupid slowpokes.
    I tried single player with Crossfire 1.82, and i found the NPC are made as much more smart enemies, big thnx all team.
    However this awesome mod is not balanced for the original game campaign (trade, pod selling in prison, superior ships in Texas and Pittsburgh, millions of money and so on. Of course it's all IMHO, but i don't want to dispute about, please.


    So (sorry for tactless question, if so it is):
    Is it possible extract only the NPC AI from the mod and install it in a original game?

  • Impossible, even if you'd be a good coder/programmer enough to possibly can do it yourself, you'd still need OP's permission to use CF's parts.


    And, everyone made the SP campaign except few who had some bugs/errors and couldn't finish it.

    It's more challenging, not that "not balanced" to not make it at all.


    Also CF 1.9 solves most(as "all" is kidna impossible) issues about SP campaign, and even increasing the missions all arround the CF universe, and tripling their numbers :)

  • Not to mention that you'll also need permission from Microsoft & Digital Anvil as well, for making changes to the original game

  • Uhm, Crys, not really lol... especially as one is gone, the other one has no copyright for that point, while you don't share their game to others it's fine.

  • modders point of view:
    it is actually possible, if you are a very good modder
    however... you would need to compare the original game with the modded version and check every different value
    in other words... its extremly time intensive and complicated
