I was talking about the country and it's internal lawmaking policy, where the Turkish military (among others) takes care (so to say) not to let Turkey become an Islamic republic under Sharia law, like Iran or Pakistan, for example.

You are talking about military actions and war practice, which is a different matter all together. I'm not saying that certain actions in war times aren't motivated by religion (like targeting religious buildings or markings), but you're referring to an entire military campaign.
