The Galactic Racing Championship is the first in its kind for space racing. This interstellar cup will take place on the most dangerous but marvelous courses where adrenaline and excitement will await. Rules :
- Allowed ship classes : LF, HF, VHF.Allowed thrusters : Any.
- Allowed shields : Any (but not the invincible starflier startup shield). NPCs are to be able to shoot you if they are hostiles. Its part of the thrill of space racing.
- Allowed weaponry : None, except for defense against NPCs.
- To complete the course systems have to be reached in the sequence order as they are indicated on the calendar (1 -> 2 -> 3 not 1 -> 3 -> 2).
- Using Jump Holes or Jump Gates doesn't matter.
- When a [checkpoint] is specified, the racer has to DOCK on the base to mark the checkpoint.
- When a target system is reached. racer must report position to EM to be cleared. EM will reply to confirm.
- There are 2 starts types : Space and land. In the first type, the racers all stay in a line near the starting location and engage at the EM's signal. On land start, every racer will launch from a base or planet with the EM signal. Jump starts will cause a 30 secs penalty added at the racer's total time (which really decides who wins).
- To participate in the event, racers must be on the EM's group channel for the whole duration of the race. Any disconnection from the group may result in disqualification.
- In case of server crash/reboot, race will be either cancelled or rescheduled on the EM's decision. The decision will be announced on the SWAT forum.To start a race, a minimum of 4 ships is required.
- Teams can compete in the their championship by engaging 2 pilots whose points will count for the team's points.
- The Teams Champion is determined by the biggest point total of a team's pilots.
- The Racer Champion is determined by the biggest point total of an individual pilot.
- Points are awarded at each race as follow :
- 1st = 10 points
- 2nd = 6 points
- 3rd = 4 points
- 4th = 3 points
- 5th = 2 points
- ... = 1 point
- DNF = ½ point
