  • in the video posted by micheal, they managed to make the capship not spinning when a stupid starflier touch it. In CF when a ship hits a battleship it starts spinning around. Same for smaller debris in asteroid fields....

    Arrow, the spinning cap ships actually knocked out my shields in Altair a few times...I thought at first that these spinning ships were where the clans partied before a mission...or more likely where Marauder keeps his stash of vodka... :)

  • this is one of the things that i dont understand
    when i worked on CF i reworked all battleships to prevent spinning and even tested them all with the result that it was extremly hard to make one of them spin or drift
    and suddenly all these changes are not working anymore? seriously i cant believe that



    its like the "omg dervon does freeze my FL, but i always go there to hunt ancients", it doesnt make any sence

  • well, OP, first of all, it shakes A LOT when you hit even a small object (destroyable asteroid debris for example or stafliers). A very good example is when we try to make a fighter enter the cargo bay for fun, if he touches slightly the hull, both ships repulse from each other : the fighter spins away and the cap ship gets to a 45 degree angle from where it was before impact. It doesn't "spin with out control", it bounces. May be a little too much.


    Personnaly that trick of opening the bay doors should be exploited. A battleship could store several fighters in its cargo bay. It would be a great tactical addition : the enemy would not see fighters at first sight and damages ships could take refuge in the cap ship during a battle.

  • what you ask for is not possible and if you would have read the comments you would have noticed that so called "concept" has not even be included in the official mod

    simple note that i was not asking, i was suggesting and hoping. I know you hate it when ppl ask for stuff....


    I won't care any longer about this concept, if its not possible or not interesting you then we'll live without it :D

  • look, this concept is actually pure bullshit, they have created a battleship with extremly high mass and extremly low rotation values (almost like stations)
    thats why its not spinning


    and reason why nobody does use such settings (even they dont) is that you cant play with the battleships any longer



    opening and closing baydoors is actually nothing impressive, you can easily link the jettison command with the already existing baydoor scrips for those battleships
    ive done similar stuff before but decided not to include it into CF since it has absolutly no use

  • Yep, OP's right about the mass thing, also you noticed the BS never moved... . The OP's modification to make battleships just shake instead of spinning to death is the best ( for real). I posted it cus it was nice to see that idea and the opened bay which I tryed a while ago and made videos with it :D
