Weird error message

Just a hunch.
What AV are u using and do u get a message that says that there is a Trojan horse in your comp while u download or just after the download?

Actually the download didn't finish all the way. So you will have to re-download.

No, NSIS is the installer Crossfire uses.

Antivirus won't pick a file out of the compressed files inside the setup. Your download is corrupt that is all. Redownload and maybe use a download manager to ensure a complete download.

It has happened to me.
It can happen while u download.
I use Norton 2010.

I'll try it with some AV's and find out. But it seems very unlikely. It's possible for it to do it when the files are being extracted, but not sure to it doing it during download as the installer won't be complete enough even to be run.

I still say your best bet is to simply re-download the file.

AUUGGG i have now like 6 times same prob.. have used three diffrent means of downloading.. and turned off all of my AV and FW as well!!

Does that message come before u launch the setup file or after it has finished checking?

yeah after it finishes that part right before the Swat-op and crossfire free floating symbols pop up

ok ppl update!! i got it to download .. i know... now applause please just ended up using the freaking one that came with Firefox O_o BUT NEW PROBLEM..... IT WONT LOAD i get the usually blarney massage from Flmm about how it is corrupt and do you want to reload all the backups... GRRRRrrrrrr (im crying and screaming on the floor wife thinks ive lost it) XD

1.reinstall FF
2.use other browsers
3. try with Flash Get -this works for me...thx to OP
4. reinstall ur OS (do this in the first place^^)

Ok, this happening is VERY unusual.

First, the file, after you download it, it should say it's 1.33-1.34 GB when you click on it's properties.
If after you download it, ou open it and it starts checking the files, means there's no big problem, if it brings an error while checking, it's a missing file or unfinished files, possibly by an interrupted download, or a buggy AV that deletes files while downloading ( I think just Norton can go that far with the security... but norton is only for professional PCs where you use only programs, as it will destroy many of the games, secondary programs, keygens whatever you try to use xD).

The safe line where you have to arrive is at the file finishing correctly the files-check, without giving an NSIS error that indeed is the CF installer, not something from windows.

With windows 7 it shouldn't happen like on vista, but cheaper versions has the same bug. Try run the CF file as Administrator(you know, the button of "Run As"). And remember you should already have 1 FLMM installed when running the CF file or else it will find no automatic place to install...

Indeed this mod worths the work, once installed it's 4 GB big, imagine what cool stuff it has inside ? and some original ieas no other mod ever had hehe

lol yeah i had it loaded before when it first cam out (Vrs 1.81) and had a lot of fun Now im just trying to get back in !!
