• Hello all !
First of all Id like to thank you for this great mod for this great game. I started playing Freelancer about two-three years ago, and it was love on first sight.
Recently, I found this mod. I thought "Well, some new ships, some new systems, yeah...", but it was different. The story, Sol systems, Dom Kavash race, everything fits in the right place.
One could think that it is perfect. Yup, it is, BUT there is still something to improve.
Here are some ideas that i thought of. Decide wheather they are good or bad.

More "readable" text
What are you doing when the destination is faaaar away? Personaly, I read everything I can. So, I came up with idea of "Readable cargo". Think of it as comodity when the description is very very long (e.g.: current Whiskey, Vodka, they are cool). It could have zero price and have text digged from Wikipedia, but it cuts long time.

Newspapers
Just an improvment over the last idea. Another cargo full of text. Who reads the news on the stations when you can read them in your craft? Weekly updated with news, tips, hints, comodity sales, or even reviews of ships and equipment. (Im sure that on this forum is one-two people that can write)

"Living" systems
Think about flying in Manhattan. Planets, bases, ships, Police, Rogues. Period.
Now think about flying in living Manhattan. Planets surrounded by billboards, advertisments, policeman recruiting new people, bases having disco parties (just joking), rogues with warning signs, cardmine sales, etc.
Generaly Im talking about space crap, garbage, ads, junk. Just few models with colorful texture. But it will add life to plain systems.

Radio
Only a minor idea. External radio (on the net) with 24/7 streaming. Freelancer - Crossfire. Space music, news, adverisments, anything. Could be implemented in game (?)

Change of recorded radio voices (CF added)
I think they are crappy. Sorry, but if you are recieving transmission "this is planet ... CROSSFIRE ..." the "crossfire" sound really scary and bad. Just and idea to re-record the voices, or just change the volume, or ...
using of some speech-synthetiser (text-to-speech). It could be great. It kinda fits into the theme, you can record ANY name of station/planet, and it is easy.

Think of it... and write your thoughts

• What mode do you play ? Singleplayer story line, open single player or multiplayer ?

The suggestions you've made are interesting in adding atmosphere to the game.
BUT... since Crossfire is designed and optimized for MULTIPLAY, as will be told to you by others often enough, these additions would only be sensible on SINGLEPLAY, where you won't have other gamers around, who occupy you well enough, so that you don't need any other "atmosphere"boosting.
I would think, that most people around here would not see a necessity for that.

This speech thingie sounds interesting, even though there is microsofts Speech SDK freely available, but I doubt, that it's implemantable to Freelancer.
Well, perhaps, if the way how FL works the voices would be cut and replaced with the use of Speech SDK...But this would also mean writing/rewriting each and every bit of text, that takes place in FL.

• the suggestions are not only SP
partly they are hard to realize
the voices the way they are took alot of work and its not that easy to create them

Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.
