Scanner question

  • I wanna ask something about scanners in FL general and ofc in CF especially.
Well, it's more a question of confirmation.

The RANGE of a scanner, it only applies to other SHIPS, not to solars like stations, wrecks, jumpgates and -holes, right?

If I would get/create a scanner (NOT in CF) with a range of - lets say 25000 klicks, then I could scan ships that far away but would not
get a registration of a new jumpgate or station 20000 klicks away on my radar, right?

  • solar detection range is set in a different way, but i doubt that you could just create such a scanner for ships as it requires several hex edits on various files to extent that range in combination with ini changes

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    This is ten percent luck,
    Twenty percent skill,
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will,
    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

  • Thx for the clarification.

About this range I mentioned, it's something I've seen somewhere else.
