/v/lancer Crossfire theives?

    Just saw this on the starport:
    Apparently 4chan's begin making its own mod, called /v/lancer.
    I played on their old servers, but I haven't heard much about their new mod. But apparently they just released a trailer and started to advertise on the Starport.
    Now I already know OP already knows, saw his posts against the 4channers, but apparently they might have stolen a few things from Crossfire.
    So, what the hell do we do?

    no other mod has something like that
    its exactly the same texture, the same cone, the same animation and even the same texture error from the old CF version

    not yet, but it seems like forsaken and FF also noticed something
    from the video and one of the videos ive seen about shattered worlds I would say that they also use starspheres from that mod
    at least they look very similar

    Thanks Trainwiz. Practically every single one of their starspheres in the trailer, with an exception of a few are from my mod, along with the nebula textures and other things. They were stolen from my 1.1 version of the mod it appears. The fact that they basically told us to fuck off afterwards is what really irritates me. WTF did I do to deserve this? I hope they enjoy it.... its at least 3 years worth of work in there, not to include several years of experimentation before that. :/

    First we prevent that they can spread their word about their mod. No FL site would allow theft.


    Then we could take care of their steam channel as they directly violate the rules there. There might be rules which could get them banned from there.


    Whatever is left then is not able to survive. They will not get away with it.

    Yeah OP...
    You can't ban their steam channel for that, only phishing channels get banned.
    As for advertising, I don't think they really care one way or another about the Freelancer sites. As long as 4chan is up, they pretty much have a limitless supply of advertising. The main target would be to go after 4chan.

    You should never even think or write about touching 4chan - just a serious advice ;)


    Contact their staff if you feel mistreaten thats all you can do.

    Isn't it kind of too late for that? They've had a vanilla server up, and it is kinda hard to stop 4chan doing something

    how many ppl play on that server?
    they will not be able to advertise and todays FL is not known to be full of new players

    OP, I don't think they want new players from outside of 4chan. And 4chan has a lot more people than us...

    They have more people, but not more FL players. They are a diverse group which focus on many different things. I'd venture to say most of the people over there don't give one shit about FL or the /v/ squabble. Whereas we are a group who focuses on just one thing/game.

    No... they could easily have more FL players, their steam group alone has more active players than most servers...

    question remains.... how many players do they have on their server?
