that statement (my statement) at FLC was taken as reason for a flamewar with the all time favorite "its the way you say it" excuse
I ask myself now what on that statement is so seriously EVIL that it deserves flames and even insults directed against SWAT. In my eyes its nothing but a personal oppinion that is not even directed against a person or a project.
Maybe its just because of the ppl involved (RooAvery) as a similar incident happened at Reactorforge a few months ago.
The statement i made there was:

Yeah that was reason for a flamewar when i registered at RF a few months ago... well actually it was reason for RooAvery to start a thread in the admin section about me where he tried to discredit me (not knowing that I can read that area of the forum).
I still have to ask myself where these statements have the potential to offend someone. Furthermore I have to ask myself where those ppl which deny others to have an own oppinion, which insult other just as they wish just to state then "we did this because of your tone".
I mean how stupid is that?
That would be like if Haegar would come to me and say "hey... all nice ideas but technically not possible" and i would reply it with a "you motherfucker are always so negative". (sorry haegar - no offence meant)
Negativity... thats also what i got blamed for.
"you are the most negative person because you didnt support my 5 ideas .. bla bla"
That i meanwhile supported 95 other ideas is of course something that gets not mentioned.... that simply does not fall into account. And of course if I tell them from these 95 ideas that i supported then of course I am praising myself and pushing my ego. Well thats at least what these ppl would say and actually did say.
So no matter what I do... supporting stuff or voicing my concerns about something these ppl ALWAYS will present me as the EVIL one to push their own egos and to hide THEIR MISTAKES.
We are not talking about personal mistakes that only affected the person which did that mistake. We are talking about mistakes which damaged the entire FL community. Mistakes such as the TLR meeting in november 07 where all these ppl cried "hurray" without using their brains. Already during that meeting WE were presented to be "negative" just because we asked how they want to realize those big plans. And many times after that incident the same shit happened.
These ppl are not going to learn from mistakes... they also dont care about consequences for others (just like the demoralisation/demotivation of the FL communities based on the many failures -> just an example). All they want to hear is the "hurray". Once somebody has a different oppinion the flame start.
At the end of 2006 i announced at TLR that the global list server would shut down one year later.
"no that will not happen"
"you are so negative"
"we are the FL community - if so we will prevent it"
That were the replies... and one year later the GLS got shut down just like I announced it. There was exactly one FL community prepared.... ours. Nobody of you did even notice that the GLS went offline while other these bigmouths out there started to cry. That are exactly the same ppl that are so convinced about their communities today.
"TSP is the center of the FL community" (ive read that statement over at TSP in the past weeks)
Well the center of the FL community just has been taken out and i doubt (yes i doubt something again) that the attacks will stop just because they are looking for a new server.
BTW. TLR made similar statements years ago and more and more TSP is acting like the TLR that they so much felt contempted. History repeats... in one or another way.
That is the FL community.
What saddens me most is that our very good relations to FLC (and previously to the old TLR owner, bp) got damaged by these incidents and such stupid people that dont even realize what damage they cause.
They drown while they clutch a straw instead of listening to the ppl which tell them to simply put both feet on the ground.
Ive spend much time over the past years trying to fix other ppls mistakes, other communities mistakes or at least to limit the consequences of those mistakes. Not a single "thx" did I receive for all the work done. I am sick of being presented to be the evil guy while i have done nothing evil at all.
I am simply sick of it.
The people which want to work with us, the people which want their servers and communities to survive can come where and all others can go to hell. They can do as many mistakes they want now... ill clean the mess anymore... ill not prevent them from big mistakes anymore... if they want to run into the hands of hackers ill wont hold them back, if they want to cry "hurray" to something that does damage the FL community and therefore their own servers and communities then ill let them cry "hurray" and watch them drowning.
The others which want to have a future and want to act responsible towards the players and towards the community are welcome.
And is this thread open for publicity?
