Colonial Wars Freelancer Server Goes Online 15/12/07!
SWAT Portal welcomes Colonial Wars Freelancer to the FL community! This is a new mod, created by Dias & his Admin team, which just went online Saturday. Congratulations to the CW team for this success, along with building a loyal fan base during the mod's development!
Origins of the Colonial Wars
The Earth Alliance, although defeated in the 100 year war in the Earth System, managed to stick together and escape to Sirius to start their lives from the beginning. Having settled at the Sirius systems, the population gradually grew, and so the need for colonies to be founded arose. An expansion was inevitable and so from the people that had made that desperate trip in the sleeper ships having settled into one planet each, the Earth Alliance expanded to other planets and other systems. Colonies were founded and the ever growing population of the Sirius Systems lived for over 800 years of peace and prosperity.
Life was good for all, until a foreign threat disturbed their peace and serenity. The threat brought on by the Nomads caused a feud between the colonies. The Nomads planned to turn the colonies against each other so that they would have an easy time taking out what was left of the humans once their feuds broke out into full scale wars. A plan that was unraveled by the Order and along with a great many of its followers managed to take on the Nomads and extinguish the threat that was closing in on the Sirius colonies.
Although the Order and its followers managed to drive the Nomads out, their plan to turn the colonies against one another had already done irreparable damage to the peace and serenity that the descendants of the Earth Alliance had enjoyed for so long. The feuds continued, with colonies trying to take over the resources and in effect destroying the others. It got to a stage where there were random military patrols would purposely go out of their way to cause trouble in neighboring colonies. It was not long before war broke throughout the Sirius Systems. And so 1000 years after the sleeper ships of the Earth Alliance had landed at the Sirius Systems, war broke out. This marked the beginning of the Colonial Wars.
Now its each colony for itself. Each one looks for out for itself. And even within the colonies themselves, pirate clans have emerged trying in whatever way possible to gain profits from the innocent and causing havoc for all. Fortunately Police clans have also emerged formed of pilots true to their colony who will try to protect the innocent from the wickedness of the pirates. Its been over 110 years since the Colonial Wars started with no one side showing any kind of advantage over the other and so the fighting continues showing no possible end to the Colonial Wars.
More and more keep joining different factions. Everyday more people are added to the list of men and woman who join in the fight for one side or the other. What part will you play in the Colonial Wars?
