I've noticed that Crossfire seems to have quite a few references scattered about, and was just wondering which of these you guys noticed?
The main ones that hit me (and I'm amazed I only noticed it now) are the Daedalus and Helios systems - Daedalus and Helios are both references to the first (and best) Deus Ex, or at least unintentionally refer to it 
I always thought it was something out of Final Fantasy.

No harm in giving a nod to other sci-fi stories/franchises. Science fiction has been fertile ground for shaping the reality of the future, and we all owe a debt of gratitude to those whose vision led to many of the things we take for granted in real life today. Acknowledging some of those visions in the fabric of CF improves its appeal and relevance, but of course, in a modest way, so as not to dilute the concept and character of the game.
