Cannot connect to CF server!?

    K so last night I was playing fine on the CF server and now I cant connect at all. It doesnt even show attempt of trying to connect, only says sorry but the server is either offline or check if your connection is working. Yet I see that there is 11 players online and that im getting a refresh rating on my ping constantly. I also noticed how the luancher downloaded the ussual things before letting me play multiplayer......so any suggestions as to what is wrong? or is the CF server bussy with something?


    Been trying to connect since 7 AM this morning .......

    NO DO NOT USE THE E PATCH
    1) It was ONLY for when the update server was busted and you couldn't update CF Client.
    2) It's bugged

    Well I tried the patch this morning, didn't work. So I then looked at uninstalling, deleting registry, reinstalling (the clean type I know it so well now lol) and it still says the same!


    There is nothing wrong with my installation i play single player fine. I think something is wrong with my profile on the net, must be stuck or something cause as I click connect it immediately says connection to the server cannot be established or the server could be offline. It also says that I should "check my connection" Though how come if I can see the server, get ping status from it and see how many players are online, I am unable to connect to it?


    I guess this is beyond my control so I shall hope that when 1.8 is released that I can connect to the server.

    Are you able to activate another account? I will make one and send it to you so you would be able to test it.


    If not, please make a new User on Windows and try the connection with the new Windows Profile. If something is wrong with your Profile the new User should be able to connect.

    Thats all fine and dandy but I cant even get to the character selection screen let alone connect.


    I dont know if making a new Profile IP ID will work but ill try. in the mean time im going out to the movies.

    VII. Can't connect to any Server (Vista)
    Norton, mcafee securityCenter or Kaspersky aren't allowed to be on your PC, deactivating them don't do it!, if you have Avast! you have to deinstall the NetworkShield.

    ESOD seems to be the AV that works the best with Vista, however McAfee is installed on my other PC running Vista and I can connect to CF just fine.

    Well you could try by deinstall the software, restart PC, test FL connection then, if it is working, then you know it is the fault of AVG.

    EDIT: Like OP said in the same post in swat thread, Vista in combination with the virus scanner was the problem. I uninstalled AVG and restarted the pc now CF works fine.
    However I dont want to go with no anti-virus just so I can play CF....is there no work around this problem? AVG saved my life many times when I got viruses. I trust no other program but it. I mean, why is it only CF gives this problem and not the other 6 online games I play? Just a thought to get a work around this....

    Well you could try AVG again but uninstalling every network assistants from it . Otherwise you have to use another antivirus (I know that avira antivir is working very good with FL + its free and still a nice antivirus)

    I have AVG Free, everthing ON, and no problems from that side...

    So then why the sudden problem with me? oO maybe i'm missing updates for vista or something I dont know.....this is probably just another case of ramdom willingness to work or give problems ...
