Problem installing CF

    Hi,


    I'm having trouble downloading/installing CF on my computer. I run Vista Home Premium with Avast Anti-virus.


    Description : I downloaded CFSetup17.exe on the portal I got several trojan warnings.


    I had CF on my old computer (XP Pro Sp2) and didn't had this issue.


    Please help me !

    For some reason Avast allways seems to throw false Trojan warnings there is some otheres to but believe me there are no viruses in the CF installation if you search through the forum you will find some otheres wth same problems and they all seem to be using the same AV programs.... Just set your AV to ignore these if you can if not remove Avast and get somthing better like Zone Alarm or Bitdefender.

    I have another problem during install. I run the exe to load it in FLMM. Then, when i active it, it crashes with this log output :


    Error: problem activating 'Crossfire Mod 1.70 Client Edition'
    Error: SHCopyFile failed ('C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\DLLS\BIN\content.dll.flmmbak' to 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\DLLS\BIN\flmmbakspcontent.dll')


    That file doesn't exist and I don't know why it's not there !? Any idea to fix the issue ?

    the problem is either your FLMM version or a missing file in your FL directory (which got removed by FLMM previously)
    best advice i can give you is to use FLMM 1.31 and a clean/new installation of FL


    The installation procedures of CF1.8 already have been changed to avoid such problems.

    I get the usual crap message too. However, a couple of reinstalls (everything!) did the trick. I think the fourth got me online.
