oh.. i remember.. clans are this organisations, where you have to follow special rules, besides the server rules

explore the game, without joining any clans (at the beginning) stay freelancer (so you can switch your license (role-play) as much as you want (right lucy?)

Abras seems to be the specialist of Clans

A clan is a mostly organised bunch of players playing together for the same goals.

Some of the Clans have internal Rankings, Quests and yes some Rules too (ask Simba he can explain those rule thing best :D). But mainly claned Players play together in combat groups and so on.

Many Clans are made from it´s members with hardblood and many ideas to improve the gameplay for it´s members. If you are familar with the game and if you got your feeds on the ground a clan will give you much more than some rules.

In CF you will have an outstanding choice from full orginisation to no organisation, from clan internal secrets to grouped friends.

Take your time and test all the RPs before you decide - then talk to the members of the clan. Clans are the reason that players have fun for the longest time in an almost known enviroment.

edit: Btw. to answer your question, CF is imO the best FL Modification and is my numero uno since three years, very well balanced and with many improvements - eventhough the community can be the nicest - join the CF Server.

i was only listing the ones off the top of my head.

and i've been out for a while

starting as freelancer is not a bad thing to do.

since it is the only way to find out whats possible on CF by yourself (to beginn with)

You can do that, if you want cash. If you don't try your luck with guns and shooting NPCs.

A tip, prepare yourself a 1-2 days schedule of uber boredom, do some loads of cash trading, do some months of worth fighting, always works for me

There are 2 basic considerations to be made when selecting a server.

1. The mod or the lack there of, do you want to change the game add to, or total conversion?
2. Geographically where is your prospected server located, best to be as near to you as possible to minimize lag. Home country would do fine.

*tip shut down all other programs especially the ones online, lag is reduced dramatically, most of the time.
also make considerations for the presents of or lack of solar flares during online play as I suspect them to be gremlins.

I left Disco 24/7 for continuous lag, it was a real killer.
Crossfire? I was on last pm wasn't any better, ping 180.
(BTW who ever that was on crossfire last night that shot down that puny freighter in Wolf system, I was not impressed and ...thanks for helping me with the decision process)

I am still looking for a good mod w/ a server located in the USA that will give me the IP without a lot of research or hassle. I need a player freighter about 4k or better cargo space.
...and I would appreciate it if you all would let me get on my feet b4 blasting me back to Sol.:D
