  • So while playing the single player campaign using the crossfire mod, i got to the point where i had to go to Colorado to search for some guy

midway through the cut scene showing the hyper jump, the game froze and my computer restarted itself. is this a known issue?

Obviously since my computer restarted itself, i can't get you much more information

  • Have you the 3D sound disabled?

Assumption is the mother of all fuckups.

Being a Cynic isn't that bad. Either I'm right or I am pleasantly surprised.

  • if you were running, anything, ANYTHING while playing freelancer, due to freak accident, that might be the case, but I think i know what happened to you, sometimes your computer cannot take so much Data at one time,

so it usually just crashes, I have no idea how it can restart on its own, But usually I just lower the performance level in the Options Menu, that makes 10 FPS go to 60. So maybe you just need to tonedown your performance level, if you try again, maybe it will happen,

Other than the detail slider, I can't help ya, sorry.

You are not cornholio, therefore, you do not need TP for your bunghole.

  • be sure, it's the 3d sound ;)

  • well - no
the problem is a timer issue that happens with new hardware forcing the pc to reboot if 3dsound is enabled

Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

  • This is odd. I keep hearing that you MUST disable 3D sound, but mine has always been on, and I've only had that problem once (Not even with Crossfire, but another mod, for that matter)

Am I just lucky or does the 3D sound problem only apply to some?
