  • Hi @ all,
i have the following problem with the Crossfire commodity system. It has been discussed in another thread before but without a solution.
The commodities of all bases don't change any more in my Crossfire version. The problem is that everytimes i buy sth and undock, i loose server connection.
I've reinstalled freelancer, freelancer mod manager and crossfire mod, deactivated the firewall and Antivir programm - but without solving that prob.
Does anyone have an idea what i could do?

  • Everytime you lose connection, it says "Possible cheat detected" with your name in the end...
Looks like your mod client is not updating correctly... why ever...
As you reinstalled the FL... did you also remove the FL save files in your documents/MyGames/Freelancer?
Dont know if exactly that can cause such problems, but its possible...

  • did the launcher work before, i mean did u get these 500+ updates at the first launch? what is the version number of the launcher (check launcher title bar, please)?

for a clean install, check the "Installation Instructions" in the CF Guide, please

  • The version number of the launcher is V1.56.
After i've installed all the stuff, the launcher dowloaded this 500+ files.
I've checked the market_commodities.ini - file. It is the same then before new installation. I deleted it and after i've started the launcher an identical file was written only with a different time stamp.

    Nothing changes...

  • No, IE is not offline - and i deleted the whole cache.
    No change.
I really don't know where the files come from. I've made a windows file search and deleted all version of the market_commodities.ini - file.
    No change.

  • did it ever happen to work?

u don't get E1, E4 or any other error message...

the update process itself seems to work, because u said that the file gets replaced....

u have cleared cache and the IE is online.....

if not any other pilot has problems, but gets on the server without being kicked for cheating, then......

is there anything on ur side so special? what OS?

  • It sounds strange:
Everything worked fine since today morning when i saw that the commodities are the same as they were yesterday.
I didn't change anything on my computer. Yesterday i switched it off and today i switched it on and started the game - and the trouble with it.
I thank you for you efforts - i will drive home and get my other fl - installation CD. Maybe a complete new and clean FL, FLMM and CF Mod will fix this. I've saved my account data and hope the best.

It is unbelievable: After a complete new installation of all necessary components i have the same result.
I think that i've found the reason for this:
I am playing at work :).
My boss has installed a proxy which saves internet content in a cache so that you can browse faster. I think that all update files are saved in that cache and so the updater doesn't get the newest file.
I bypassed that ugly little thing and now everything seems to work fine.

  • Great

i followed now your 3 or 4 times edit post.

now happy that you could solve your problems!

  • Also keep in mind that the dynamic economy files only update once per day, during the daily server restart, @ about 5:30AM, GMT. If the server crashes, or you login more than once in the same day, the files will be the same. 8)
