Multiplayer-ID

  • Hello Folks,

due to a lot of inquiries for saving the multiplayer id, i have wrote a little (very little) batch program that extracts the id from the registry.

The extracted file will be stored under your c:\ drive and is named to "freelancer_account.reg". To generate this file you have at first to execute this batch program after your very first freelancer start.

You can use this file to restore your lost account, so it is not longer necessary to type your MP-ID after a clean installation. The onyl thing you have to ensure is to save this file and keep in mind where you have stored this file ;D

With a simple dopple click you can reset your MP-ID.

You can find the download here (<--- click)

  • sweet :). Now i finaly know how to extract reg entrys with a batch command :D.
Surely a nice tool for people who dont like the Account Manager and/or play with 1 account only!

Does it give me a new ID ?(:D

    ^^
yes that exactly what it means. If you dopple click on the reg file the entries concerning your ID in the registry are overwritten, there is no further interaction necessary for the user.

@straw: as far the id is stored under the user settings in the registry normally you have to execute this tool with every single user account you use. So the extracted information should be different. <--- Dont know this coz i only use one account. You can test it and post the correction here ;D

  • Its not possible to store multiple IDs in the registry at the same time so you would have to overwrite the current regfile entry with a different one whenever you want to switch accounts.
Once you have created a new 2nd account (via creating a new windows user, loging in with it and starting the game) you can extract it with your batch file and just doubleclick the resulting reg file for whatever account you want to use^^. Only make sure you copy and save your first account when attempting to extract the 2nd one.
Freelancer Account Manager does kind of exactly the same but with more hassle in startup, memory load in the background (hence its another app you have to start rather then doubleclicking a *.reg file^^). Some people claim FLE to not be intenionally usable either. I think I will switch to the regfile method now :D.

//edit: @ Supercars: Maybe there is a little missunderstanding. The batch file does not 'generate' you a new code in order to make a second account. It does extract the information of your CURRENT code into a handy piece of regfile to export and import anywhere. (So it doesnt get lost or you can take that file to your friend playing with your account from a different place or pc.) If you want to know how to create new FL accounts on the same pc read the sections above and/or take the Freelancer Account Manager readme which sums the process of making a new account up very well. (just google for it).

  • When I click it says, Out of Environment Space.

Was this Program a joke or something else is wrong.

EDIT: Sorry guys, i'm being an idiot - slap me plz.

  • nothing wrong with the batch there m8^^.

    SYMPTOMS
When you start a batch file or use a command prompt, you may receive the following error message: Out of environment space

    CAUSE
The default space for environment variables is 256 bytes by default. More environment variables are being set than can fit in 256 bytes.

    RESOLUTION
    1. Right-click the MS-DOS Prompt shortcut, and then click Properties.
    2. Click the Memory tab.
    3. In the Initial Environment box, set the initial environment size you want (from 256 to 4,096 bytes, in 256-byte increments).
    4. Click OK.

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    This is ten percent luck,
    Twenty percent skill,
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will,
    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

  • still after the next windows reinstall you would have to put in the code manualy taken from the mpaccountid.hta. With Hours regfile it only needs a simple doubleclick^^.

  • ahhh. now i see.

ok. great job huor. thx straw for enlightening me. :)
