The first Persistent Universe monthly report of the year details all the work done by the Star Citizen team throughout December and January. While the devs and studio teams took a break for the holidays, the early winter months saw a ton of tasks completed, progress made, and new ideas seeded.

AI
The AI Team put effort into stability and optimization for the recent alpha releases and patches.
AI gunships gained new tactical options, including the introduction of a new behavior that allows them to circle enemies and use their turrets to attack from a constant distance. Designers can easily modify this behavior to change things like the optimal attack range and when to disengage the target. The ‘fly-by’ and ‘breakaway’ tactics were also amended to make better use of the predicted hit position and allow ships to better evaluate the

Hello,
I’d like to start this week’s blog post by thanking everyone, who shared their feedback in regards to our Alpha 3.1 release. With your help, we released a new client patch by the end of last week, implementing sought-after changes to insurance timers and the expedite fees. More info and the complete patch notes can be found here. Keep sharing your experience from the ‘Verse and let us know what you think in our feedback forum on Spectrum!
In the wake of last month’s backer survey, we also reworked our Roadmap. We condensed all mining-related tasks for 3.2 into one card, moved Salvaging, Refuel & Repair to 3.3, and added the top survey results for the upcoming release. While focusing on quality of life improvements and performance, we will continue to rework our roadmap as a living and breathing representation of the development process. So expect to see even more changes in the coming weeks. And

Letter from the Chairman
Dear Citizens,
Two Hundred Million Dollars.
Wow.
The amount is the highest total for any project in the history of crowdfunding and is beyond anything I could have imagined in my wildest dreams.
While the number is impressive, that is not what sets Star Citizen and Squadron 42 apart.
The true celebration is one of how a community came together to enable a shared dream to come to life. How gamers from all over the world came together to finance one of the biggest and most ambitious projects ever embarked on. There is no publisher. No big conglomerate. This is all grassroots, funded by gamers for gamers.
http://To highlight just how global the support is, the person that took us past this milestone, Algared, hails from New South Wales in Australia and has been a backer since 2014. We have backers from 171 countries, from some of the smallest like San Marino or the Maldives

This Galactic Guide originally appeared in Jump Point 5.2.
A Star Is BornA whirling mass of potential, the recently discovered Kallis system has excited scientists and researchers the Empire over by offering them a rare opportunity: to witness the formation of a stellar system first hand.
Kallis was first visited in 2921 through its jump point connection with Oso, and initial ICC scans of the system revealed a G-class main sequence star anchoring nine protoplanets in various stages of development. Officially, the system’s discovery is credited to OB Station Chimera, the main research facility in Oso, but many still persist that it should be rightly attributed to former PFC Gabby Rifon.
Part of the Army security force detailed under the Fair Chance Act to protect Oso II from poachers, smugglers, and other trespassers, Rifon served as a long-range scan technician tasked with sweeping the system for
