    "Reunion"

Odo and the young Jem'Hadar haven't gone very far past the wormhole in the Gamma Quadrant when a Dominion patrol ship neared. "Well, you've been waiting all your life, short as it may be, to meet your people,” Odo said to his traveling companion. “Now, you'll get your chance. I hope," Odo paused, looking for the right words, "I hope you'll be happy." "Are you sure you want to go back to the station,” the young warrior asked. “Don't you belong here? Your people are here – you are a Founder!" Before Odo could convince himself, again, that he made the right decision, the other ship hailed them. He sighed, "On screen." A female Vorta appeared, "Greetings, Founder. Did you change your mind? Are you coming home to us at long last?" "I see word of my existence has made it throughout the Dominion. Hmph." "It’s best said that such information is at a ‘need to know’ status, Founder.

“Captain’s Log, supplemental.” Captain Thy’kir Shran lifted his finger from a button on the terminal in his ready room. He had come in here to record his thoughts as the U.S.S. Sebrova cruised at high warp toward their latest objective. These were momentous times, dangerous times, and he felt that they deserved to be chronicled. But he wasn’t sure where to begin. The peaceful exploratory mission Starfleet had offered him when he donned the uniform was no longer a priority. Across Starfleet, science vessels and starships built for exploration were being retrofitted for combat—the Sebrova included. All because of the Klingons’ attacks at the Battle of the Binary Stars. While he and the Sebrova weren’t present at the battle, he found it surreal to hear the news of the tragedy for two reasons: One, because of the Klingons’ sudden and unexpected savagery and two, because among the

One of our favorite things to come out of the internet this past year has been the fantastic Shield of Tomorrow, the actual-play show run by Eric Campbell on Geek and Sundry’s Twitch Channel and Alpha. The crew of the Sally Ride, Aliza Pearl, Bonnie Gordon, Hector Navarro, Sam de Leve, Amy Dallen and Gina DeVivo, beamed themselves onto our computer screens each week with new tales of the Federation facing against the unknown. It even inspired some of the STO developers to do their own tabletop live stream. Sadly, Shield of Tomorrow's initial run is coming to an end, and while you won’t have to miss the incredible cast on the screen (they’ll still be around in a brand new show), we couldn’t let Shield of Tomorrow pass into internet history without our own little memorial. Starting July 13th, the Sally Ride will hanging out in Sector Space in Star Trek Online…somewhere. We’re not going

Computer- Start recording. Captain’s log, supplemental. Commander Jacob Trask of the transport Beowulf, in charge of convoy 72478, currently en route to the Maxia Zeta Sector; so tired, so tired- but we have to keep moving and keep vigilant. Those damned raiders in their red ships! The stories I heard from Lieutenant Singh, of our well-meaning (but, I fear, under–gunned) Federation escort, are that the raiders just appear out of nowhere, scan the ships and either disappear as fast as they came, or start firing- no quarter given. My first thoughts were that it must be Romulan or Klingon raiders, cloaking in and out, but red ships? Singh has assured me that Starfleet will be on Red Alert should any of the raiders show their faces. If I had the confidence he had, I wouldn’t be updating this log and my will. It’s been a few days since we’ve heard of the raiders hitting any convoys, and I feel

I come to you today to let you know that yes, once again I have escaped Federation Custody, and that despite their best efforts, no one can track me to my current location - except for you, that is! And what a location I have discovered. Here in the bountiful plains of - well, let's leave that part our secret, shall we? - I have discovered a portal to a most fascinating place. I escaped there with a cache of uniforms worn by the Federation Admirals of that universe, and I can now pass those on to you at a great savings! But that's not all, no no. Madams, Gents, everyone in between, I have in my possession a fleet of Vulcan Scout ships

Long-time veteran players of Star Trek Online may well remember the team events of Gorn Minefield and Federation Minefield – queued activities in which your team tries to free captive freighters from clusters of mines, then drives off enemy ships in order to retake asteroid mining facilities, all capped with a battle at the end against a powerful enemy flagship. The Minefield events are some of the earliest queued content that players will see, as even low-level captains can play them. Of course, the Minefield queued events come from the earliest days of Star Trek Online, and so it’s about time we put a little bit of polish on them! As part of the release of our new landing page, designed to help players find interesting things to do, we’ve updated the Minefield queued events and turned them into a new, slightly different story: The Romulan Imperial war machine, always hungry for raw materials,

Glenn, and defending Starbase 1 from a fearsome attack by the Klingon House of D’Ghor. Captains will also come face to face with the vicious J'Ula, matriarch of the House of Mo'Kai and

UPDATE: Thanks to everyone for playing, and congrats to our winner! (We haven't gotten permission to reveal his name yet, so I won't be doing that here. :) ) In case you were curious how this particular one is solved: The spectrograph waveform of this audio file is shaped to look like letters. So if you downloaded the image and ran it through any audio processing software, and switched the waveform to "spectrograph," you would see something like this: Which, of course, was the answer, "Leah Brahms." Thanks to everyone who participated! During today's downtime, we're conducting a new giveaway every single hour, in a different location! This morning has already seen giveaways in progress on our Twitter and our Facebook, but now is the time to step up and win on the official STO blog! It's not going to be easy.
