When I learned that our Away Team would go to Destination Star Trek in Birmingham, I had no idea what would await me there, and that it would turn out to be the best experience ever as a Community Manager. Of course, there was a lot of work to do. The perfect opportunity to turn that thrill of anticipation into announcements, teasers, games, and of course, to prepare the Universal Translator for Europe's biggest Star Trek party. Thanks to our Communicators, the members of our Away Team were in constant contact, and getting there from different regions of the planet went almost without incident. I say almost, because Ambassador Kael did steal someone's luggage, but luckily, that was solved quickly, so we could proceed to our first personal meeting over fish & chips and some amusing anecdotes. If you've worked at a Star Trek Convention before, you will know how it feels to be there on the first

The Mycelial Network – a mysterious dimension outside of, and yet connected to, our own. Discovered by the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery, the knowledge of the Mycelial Realm was lost for more than a century when all details of that ship and their mission were declared classified at the highest levels. Now, that knowledge needs to be revived to rescue the galaxy from the schemes of J’Ula and her Helical Torsion Weapon. The weapon has already been used to devastating effect, but the Klingons need Mycelial spores in order to power it and continue their campaign of war and terror. In order to prevent that, you must journey to the Mycelial Realm and stop them. In Mycelial Realm, our newest Task Force Operation, step through a rift and into the Mycelial Network, and shut down the Klingon probes that are gathering spores for J’Ula’s weapon. But the probes cannot be destroyed by conventional means –

Sometimes exploration of new ideas and new technologies leads to dark places. In Star Trek, we’ve seen many a cautionary tale about omniscient supercomputers, time travel, genetic manipulation, and telepathic oppression. The pursuit of knowledge isn’t always safe or pretty. Hearts and Minds is a mini-mission that explores the consequences of some unconventional research gone awry. This mission is a “story in one act,” so you can easily finish it in a quick play session, and it’s easy to complete it with any additional characters that you may have on your account – which is handy, because the mission offers a special reward. Since Hearts and Minds is a horror story, it will only be around for Friday the 13th, whenever that may fall on the calendar – and perhaps another sufficiently horrifying day that we might choose! Fortunately for the squeamish, Hearts and Minds is creepy, but not

Earlier this year, Starfleet Engineers, in conjunction with the finest minds in singularity technology of the Romulan Republic, finally made a breakthrough in investigating the incursions from the Galaxy of Great Sales, which occasionally merges with our own to set off the anomaly known as the “Flash Sale.” This allowed Star Trek Online to put together three great sales during the Earth event known as Black Friday, but during the Intra-galactic Winter Holiday Celebrations, we’re putting together five sales! The rarest ships in the galaxy are coming back, and you get another shot at commanding them! From December 22nd at 10am PT to December 25th at 10am PT, the Infinity R&D Packs return, and what’s more, they’re 30% off! Just before the holiday break, our good friends at Priority One: a Roddenberry Star Trek Podcast, sat down with a plethora of STO guests to talk about the year in review. First, they sat down with Content Designer John Hegner and Lead Producer Jarrod Fisher. Then, they were joined by Executive Producer Andre Emerson and Community Manager Mike Fatum. If you'd like to hear our thoughts on the past year, plus some hints at what's to come, this is the place to do it. Here's how Priority One described the episode: This week on Priority One --- things are already beginning to shake up with Star Trek Picard; Tarantino starts to put some distance between himself and Star Trek; and Paramount places bets on VR. In Gaming News, the mobile game Fleet Command is getting a huge update; then, we wrap our year with TWO interviews with Cryptic Studios to discuss 2019 milestones and take a glimpse into 2020….

The Khitomer Alliance has begun a brand new initiative in the wake of new technological advances across the galaxy. They’ve noticed no surplus of young, ready Captains looking to explore the final frontier, but there is a surplus of older model ships, perfectly capable, but waiting for the right Captain to take them up. With that in mind, we’re making a change to all Tier 1 through Tier 4 ships in the Ship Requisition Store. These ships will no longer require Zen to requisition. Nenid opened her eyes, only to see the worried face of Centurion D’mev staring down at her. “Status report,” she said hoarsely, having taken in a lungful of smoke during the last exchange of fire. Coughing, she got to her feet with the junior officer’s assistance and took a seat in the command chair. “Preferably before the Tholians manage to find and destroy us, if you please, Centurion. “ D’mev blanched before speaking. “Commander, we are under cloak, per your orders. A Tholian fleet is massing within the Azure Nebula; it seems we encountered their vanguard during our investigation of the temporal anomalies there.” Nenid nodded as she called up tactical data to the main viewscreen. And in a moment, a mission of science becomes a mission of war, she thought silently. “Engineering,” she said as she activated her command channel. “What’s our situation? That volley from the Tholians
