This event will run from Thursday, March 8th at 8AM PT to Monday, March 12th at 10AM PST, and features several bonuses throughout STO that will give Captains of all levels a leg up advancing their rank in the Research and Development school(s) of their choice. For those Captains looking specifically for extra help with their projects, all R&D packs throughout the game will give out an extra 25% of the items they currently disperse for the duration of this event. Queue R&D Material Reward Packages (Normal, Advanced and Elite) will reward 25% more R&D Materials and have a chance to reward a Catalyst. BioWare’s Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect series’ are two of the most beloved in all of gaming and a large part of this was due to the numerous contributions from writer Drew Karpyshyn. For the upcoming Anthem, Karpyshyn was revealed to have returned to the studio to work on the spacefaring project, confirming the news himself earlier last year. Inclusion of the Mass Effect 2 writer was reason to rejoice for many longtime fans, but it seems as though it wasn’t meant to last.

Announcing on his official website Karpyshyn revealed he is no longer working with BioWare and has begun pursuing other projects. Acknowledging his past leaving of the company, the heartfelt update reveals that his latest retirement is owed to wanting to more time to complete outside projects. Hi, we've just released a new update adding 4k support for Xbox One X at 30 fps and an Xbox One X performance mode running in Full HD with imrpoved graphics at 60 fps.

The update also comes with some bug fixes. See the list of changes below. Unfortunately, Unreal Engine 4.17 (which this new patch is using) broke our VR implementation, so we can't release this patch on Steam and GOG at the moment. So in order to release we need to have a running Unreal Engine 4.18 version. We started working on this a few weeks ago and are still not finished, as this version also caused a lot of problems (especially in VR) for us.

We also just started working on the Encounters expansion for Xbox One / Windows Store. This might take a few weeks as well.
