It might not look like much yet, but the structure that exist has pretty good geometry. Some of his longer term plans to add engine glow and other effects sounds really neat too!

I think this shot makes a good effort at showing the size difference. The prior version is about 11" long (show on the left) while this large version will be abound 24" long. Seeing the fully assembled smaller verison, alongside the partly assembling engineering section for the large version I think helps show the difference really well. Does the Vulture have any special synergy with other Drake ships like the Caterpillar? For example, the rear of the Vulture looks like it could easily back up to the Caterpillar‘s front air-shield door for easy offloading of salvage. (fan image example)

There are no particular plans to have any synergy with other Drake ships as suggested in the image, however the idea is interesting and should work in theory

Mac has posted a new teaser about his next Wing Commander-themed video. He maintains a nice mix of topics on his channel that touch on content from multiple universes, but the WC series is always a go-to win. There's a new wallpaper image to go along with this - it features a nice reversal of the Shiraak being assaulted by Arrows as seen on the Armada box art.

PS, the next video wont be Iron Man related, but it'll be a #WingCommander thing since I'm still having trouble coalescing the Tribes lore into a video I'm happy with.

Hint: It'll be a carrier that will eventually serve as a start point for future related videos.

It's been in suspended animation for a bit, but Howard recently posted some shots of what it looks like with Mattias_G's CRT shader in place. It gets quite a retro vibe! He's also been playing around with some character models. His Hunter and Angel are below. I especially like the recreation of the flight suits. Howard was careful to point out that this wasn't a restart of the project, but it's always good to see him tooling around with Wing Commander stuff!

The original Wing Commander has never looked better! The fantastic work that UnnamedCharacter has been doing on the WC Toolbox is paying off in a big way. Goliath has begun adapting his work to increase the resolution of ship sprites in the game and the results, which use Howard Day's beautiful models, are looking very promising! So far, Goliath has created patches that update the Bengal, Exeter and Hornet and also utilize the fan-designed Tolmacs cruiser. Check 'em out:
