One of the most exciting moments of STLV this year, for us, was getting to watch Lead Ship and UI Artist Thomas Marrone join the Eaglemoss panel to announce that Hero Collector would be doing a full line of Star Trek Online ship models. Earlier this year, Eaglemoss released the first of this line, the Enterprise F, and it looks fantastic. The image at the top of this article is an image of the model, in fact. We want to show you how fantastic in a little more detail, so tonight at 4pm PT, we’ll be doing a special unboxing video on Ten Forward Weekly to show off these ships, and give you a chance to win them! You can watch the show on our Twitch Channel, or on the Star Trek Online Facebook page. In addition, we’re teaming with Hero Collector to offer you 15% off every starship they’ve produced so far, including the Enterprise F. If you’ve been on the fence about starting a collection, or

Here's a crazy Spanish article that LOAF recently found. It comes from the now-defunct magazine PC Manía. On the surface it looks fairly typical - like hundreds of other printed reviews of WC3 at the time. But boy is that box art weird looking! They've

    photoshopped

it to change the look of the characters and even the ships. Maybe this was intended to Spanish-ize the cast? What an odd thing to do!

What the heck is going on with the Wing Commander III cover art in this Spanish magazine article?

We are excited to announce the return of the Phoenix Prize Pack, which return to Star Trek Online on PC from March 1st at 8AM PST til March 8th at 10am PST. Just like Zefram Cochrane’s experimental vessel, the Phoenix Prize Pack blazes a trail into new frontiers! And, following in the model of its mythological namesake, the Phoenix Prize Pack also represents the return from the ashes of items, ships and other rewards that have been retired from Star Trek Online, and are no longer accessible by any other means. Purchasing and opening this promotional prize pack will offer players the unique opportunity of obtaining many otherwise inaccessible items, ships and equipment, which were previously available from events or promotions, or as other limited-availability rewards. (Check further below for complete prize information!) How it works is simple: Players may visit the Dilithium Store to purchase a

Can you believe it's been twenty-eight years? The original Wing Commander officially shipped on Friday, September 26, 1990! Wing Commander was one of the most complex game productions ever attempted and its impact continues to shape the medium today. From the game's immersive touchstones to the still-engrossing pulp sci-fi storyline to how development processes and gaming technologies adapted to support such a project, it's not an exaggeration to call Wing Commander one of the most important game releases of all time. Want a more in-depth history lesson? Check out the 'making of' article about the game from The Wing Commander I & II: The Ultimate Strategy Guide here.

Here's a peek at an interesting prototype of the Wing Commander Universe Map included with Wing Commander Prophecy. We first caught a glimpse of this during our 2012

    trip

to the University of Texas archive. While the

    final map

detailed many sectors where most of the main events happened in the series, this appears to be a little snippet that just traces through the events of WCP. Due to the number of differences, it appears to predate even the

    preview map

that was released online during development, which is pretty cool! Extra bonus: Pix, ace and LOAF posing Texas-style with George Oldziey's CD!

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the launch of Deep Space Nine, and the team for Star Trek Online couldn’t wait to mark the occasion with our fourth full expansion: Victory is Life. The only way we could see to top our previous expansions was to not only introduce a brand new player faction in the Jem’Hadar, but also throw in a level cap increase from 60 to 65! Starting today, Captains in Star Trek Online will have the opportunity to create a brand new captain in their own Jem’Hadar faction. All Jem’Hadar captains will be as formidable right out of space dock as their namesakes, as they will be leveled up to 60 with a fully equipped ship, a fully geared crew, and a variety of completed Reputations, Specialization trees, and R&D progress. As a fresh captain you will have all the tools you need at your disposal to dive in and play Star Trek Online right at end game, all 100% for
