…While neither The Witcher nor Mass Effect have new games in their respective series coming any time soon, as far as anyone is aware, both franchises have given fans enough to find excitement this month. The Witcher has a big budget live-action Netflix series in the works, and Mass Effect gear is prominently featured in Anthem, the big new game by their shared developer BioWare.
Given the vastly different sci-fi and fantasy genres embodied by these two franchises, one might think a crossover between these two to be unlikely. Well, one fan has taken on this challenge with a new piece of The Witcher Mass Effect crossover fan art.

There has been widespread disquiet over recent reports that Thargoid ships have been encountered in the core systems. Admiral Aden Tanner, chief military liaison for Aegis, addressed these concerns, saying, "Reports that the Thargoids are encroaching upon the core systems en masse are grossly overstated. The enemy is contained."
Meanwhile, a multi-agency taskforce investigating the League of Reparation, the organisation responsible for the murder of Senator Nestor Cartesius, has made significant progress. From the moment that the Privateer Alpha became available, fans have been furiously poring over the game to uncover its exciting secrets. One thing that was clear from the start was that there was at least one extra cutscene towards the end of the game. There are challenges with getting all the way to the end naturally, however, so DMJC and AllTinker worked diligently to extract the clip. They’ve combined speech and an appropriate music sample to come up with the attached 13 second cut. It would naturally play when you get to the Steltek Derelict carrier in Delta Prime, which is so cool! ”Hold your calls, I think we have a winner!” is such a perfect line of dialogue for this find!

Prolific YouTuber Zaranyzerek has posted an in-depth “Closer Look” video at the Wing Commander Academy series on DVD. He shares with viewers a nice overview of what the show was about, the voice actors and how it fits into the Wing Commander universe. This actually isn’t the first time Zarany’s done a video on WCA. You can find the first in our archives back in 2014. As he’s mentioned before, not enough people know about Academy, so we love to see it get the extra visibility! Here we also get a nice and detailed tear down of the box and its contents from slip cover to disc art. Check the video out below and be sure to grab a copy of the season on DVD for just $8.
