Here's a couple of really cool Japanese advertisements that LOAF recently came across. As is common in the country, they're chock full of text and liberal with the exclamation marks. The first is a small embedded ad for the Mega CD port of Wing Commander 1, which was the only version that got full speech as it was transferred to the disc-based format. We also get to see a sell sheet for the Japanese Armada, which was ported to a surprising number of platforms: PC-98, FM Towns and DOS/V. I love that Armada color tone filling the Japanese block text!

Little find this morning: an ad for the Mega-CD port of Wing Commander I from a Sega flyer. I'd love to find the advertising ASCII did for Wing Commander SFC in Japan!

GOG.com has kicked off their annual spring sale, and there are plenty of great deals. The Wing Commander series is marked off a customary 75%, so individual games are just $1.49 or under $12 for the whole DOS & Windows series. Some other sci-fi favorites are also on sale, including Homeworld Remastered for just $3.49 or Rebel Galaxy Outlaw half off for $15. Also as a special reminder, the WC4 that GOG sells is the DVD edition, and it's easy to drop in ODVS' new videos to watch the cutscenes in full HD!

    Famous Origin artist

    Denis Loubet

is back with a new Wing Commander item. He's been experimenting with 3D printing for some time, and we've been excited at the possibility of something out of the WC series. The Terran Confederation

    Medal of Honor

has been at the top of our list, and that's exactly what's on the docket here. A prototype design has been put together as a type of pin, but LOAF has gone one step further and found the exact type of ribbon necessary to make it perfect. They still need to work out the details of how the two components might be attached, but this is already a great start. We can't wait to see the finished product!

Sorry for the long wait, but I finally created a 3D printing file for the Terran Confederation Inter-Congressional Medal of Honor! You can order it now, but before you do I want to ask the forum what kind of attachment to the ribbon do you want on the back of

The Independent HIP 29241 Green Party has announced that its appeal to recover escape pods has been enthusiastically received by the galactic community. Hundreds of pilots supported the initiative by delivering pods to Felice Dock, and by protecting contributing ships in the Meene system.

Security Chief Harper Vargas of the Meene Defence Force gave the following statement:

"We have recovered a number of key figures within the mercenary group, and interrogations are underway. We will share more information when we have it."

Pilots who contributed to the initiative can now collect their rewards from Felice Dock in the Meene system.

As part of our ongoing attempts to streamline the process of playing events in Star Trek Online, we are going to be making some changes to the Weekend Event Store on PC, and later on Xbox One and Playstation 4, giving you access to everything in the store for the price of one Weekend Event Token each. Like the changes to previously slotted events, these changes are designed to get you access to the items you’ve worked for, while also freeing up inventory space and moving towards how events will be working in the future. Starting on June 13th 2019 on PC, and August 8th 2019 on Xbox One and Playstation 4, every item and reward in the Weekend Event Store will be reduced in cost to a single Weekend Event Token. If you have any tokens remaining in your inventory, you may use them to your hearts’ content to buy whatever items you’d like. After this date, we will no longer be running Weekend Events,

The sound of a shattering PADD echoed through the underground offices. Vrosik hardly paid any mind now; she’d become used to the outbursts, the manic intensity, the slumps of dejection, and the heat of anger that cycled quickly through her co-worker. She waited for the string of invectives to die down, then picked up a fresh PADD from a neatly-stacked pile at the corner of her desk, pulled her goggles down over her light-sensitive eyes, and strode into the workspace next door. She extended the PADD silently. Callius, standing in front of his desk, moped silently for a few moments, then snatched the PADD from her hand. He looked down at it and tapped at it a few times, loading in his latest designs from the network and setting it up for use. Finally he mumbled, “Thank you.” Vrosik started to turn and head back to her workspace, then stopped. She wasn’t sure why she did. Callius’ outbursts

Captain’s Log: Stardate…um…we’ll edit that in later. The crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos, um, specifically her support crew, have been thrown forward in time. Or turned into holograms. Or possibly Excalbian constructs. Any way, they’re in 2411 now, and they’ve been given the very, very, very important assignment of helping out on your ship. Use them how you like! Just, uh, maybe leave the Bat’leth and Romulan Whiskey storage locked. Like, at all times. Our med bay is already overstaffed, ok? Seriously. Lock the doors. We’re not kidding. Starting tomorrow, August 4th, the characters of Lower Decks are coming to your Duty Officer roster on all platforms! You’ll be able to pick up Boimler, Mariner, Tendi and Rutherford to add to your Federation crews. Each of them come with a unique, active power, and it’s even sometimes helpful. They’re completely free in the Duty Officers tab of
