With the 100 series now filling the “Origin starter” slot, will the role of the 300 series be impacted?
Yes. When the 300 series will get its rework completed, it will fill both a higher tier place in the ship hierarchy, and have its current roles more defined and focused. The 100 series is a great entry point for what the 300 series will become in a future release.

Welcome to Cloud Imperium Games’ Monthly Studio Report for April, bringing you insight into what all of our studios have been working on. This month, the team delivered multiple updates to Alpha 3.1, made advancements on a variety of new systems and features, like scanning and mining, and continued development on Squadron 42. With that said, let’s get to it.

The team focused on two major priorities in April: one was the scanning feature, which is making good progress. The focus has been on the code-side that will be used throughout Star Citizen, including for Mining and in Squadron 42. …Each week we’ll roll out a new reward for the Featured Episode “Scylla and Charybdis.” The first completion of this mission on an account this week will grant a Featured Episode Weekly Reward Box. This box gives your choice of an Enhanced Universal Tech Upgrade or a Captain Specialization Point Box, which gives the character who opens it a Specialization Point. The Weekly Reward Box, Tech Upgrade, and Specialization Point Box are all Bound to Account, and may be freely traded between your characters. The Specialization Point Box requires the opening character to be level 50 or above. After the Defense of Bajor, a Tzenkethi Deflector Dish was salvaged and reverse engineered, allowing the allied forces to develop their own version of the technology. It improves your ability to control and subdue your foes, while also leaving a residual scattering field that reduces the target's weapon damage
