This may have been addressed before but I didn't find it. I have noticed that some of the bartenders seem to be confused as to where they are. e.g. the one at the Dervon (s/p?) observatory provided information that applies to a station that is btwn Sigma 13 and 19. I have also noticed this sort of thing at other locations as well. Maybe something to go back and clean up in 2.0. I have just started to keep a list of these kinds of detail things if anyone is interested. I have been playing FL for a few years before joining the SWAT PORTAL. I fell in love with CF1.7 and waited with baited breath for 1.8 to come out only to find out that my laptop wouldn't run it, (video card limitations, etc). As things would happen, the desktop we had at the time died a terrible death ! So that required the procuring of a new one, this time loaded for bear and almost no limitations! I retired and found after being away from there that CF 1.9 had come out. Needless to say I jumped all over that and have been having a blast since playing SP. I like exploring the game, searching the systems for whatever there is to find and trying different ships, etc. I'm not that great of a pilot (slower reaction times, blah, blah, older guy, etc) so I fall back on being sneaky and devious! . Anyway I noticed Op's request for help with things and not sure if this is what he meant or not. I finally found the Lexicon WIKI but wasn't sure what was going on there so don't know if I could help there or not. Since I'm on restricted activities due to knee surgery for another six weeks I have some spare time on my hands and could do something If I had a clear idea of what was up. I'm not a programer but I can cut and paste with the best of them. If there is any interest let me know. And thank for a great Mod as well, I have voted and look forward to 2.0 and the Alternate version.

Well, thanks for all the info. I will file away until I can get a video card with more memory or a new Laptop. Looks like it is back to CF 1.7 for me. that ran ok. Guess I better get busy putting this back the way it was. Appreciate the help! I'll be around somewhere.

The card is currently set to allow 63 mb for PCI texture, I will bump that up to 64 and see what happens. I was running CF 1.7 with no problems so I take it that 1.81 is a major leap forward. If that doesn't work then I will drop the resolution that is currently 1440 x 900. My image setting is set at Quality, wonder what would happen if I set it for Performance or High Performance?

Let me start by saying that I have been playing Freelancer since release and CF 1.7 sinc last year in the SP mode. This old guy ain't got the reaction times you youngsters have so I have stayed off the MP servers. the one itme I went there I got it handed to me before I figured out how to fly the ship I had.

now to my current problem w/CF1.81 - I have done all the recommended actions, cleaned, dumped, scrubbed, followed the instructions, created exclusions in my AV (AVG Pro), deactivated the AV before downloading anything and installing, etc. The problem I have is after I launch FLMM and then FL (vanilla), the launcher downloads the files and then I launch SP. FL intro starts and runs, followed by the CF intro. At the point where it should go to the menue so I can exit out of CF and finish up I get a blue screen that askes if I have enough memory and indicates that Windows is shutting down to protect itself. It list the drive for my video card as the oing where it stopped at. My card is a NVIDIA GeForce FX Go 5200 w/64MB mem in a Toshiba Satellite 17.5 Wide Screen running XP SP3. A check of the drive found I have the most current one. Since I have the AV inactive that isn't the problem at this point. (oh, by the way, I asked them about the false positives on CG 1.81 and they told me to send them the files, they will confirm and then work on a fix for AVG.)

Anyone got any ideas? I really am at my wits end, this will be the fourth attempt to set CF 1.81 up. Thank you very much in advance. I do like the SWAT Portal but don't reply much until I get my act together!

Third time was a charm! I dumped everything again, then ran a sweeper looking for anything FL and found a folder and file in docs and dumped that as well. then started over following the instructions and all is well. I am up and running, starting over. I am really impressed with the improvements made to the color schemes , sound and clarity of picture. Fantastic! Being an old guy I'm not the best fighter jock but hey, I'm having fun. Staying SP for now, I'll just spend my time dying if I try MP.

Ok, that is not working. I did find the CF mod and patch were blocked but I unblocked them and that didn't make a difference. I cleared the read only flags and it appeared they were cleared but when I went back in to check the flags were back. There is something I am mising.

Help! New here and have been following the step by step instructions to install CF 1.7. I am running into the following at Step 8: Error: problem activating 'Crossfire Mod 1.70 Client Edition'
Error: SHCopyFile failed ('C:\Program Files\Freelancer Mod Manager\mods\Crossfire1.70\Kraken Readme.txt' to 'C:\Program Files\Freelancer Mod Manager\mods\Crossfire1.70\Kraken Readme.txt')

I have redone everything twice now with the same problme, what am I missing?
