There are different classes of ships, you simply need to tailor your choice based on your preferences and type of missions, exploring, or trading that you want to do. Tons of info is available in the Wiki and Lexicon sections. The best ship is the one that works best for you for what you want. Many of us have multiple characters that all fly different ships. There are strong preferences but there is no one "best" ship.

Happy Birthday mate! -
Welcome aboard Alistar! Have fun here and we'll see you in space!

I got mine 45 minutes ago. I think with the number of emails to be sent it took the server a bit to get them all out, especially if there is any kind of flow control into the ISP mail server.

Welcome back Wes!

Welcome back!

And it is back up and I am connected.

You mention CF 1.9. Did you mean 2.0? 1.9 is no longer supported for MP. And there are no updates for SP either.
-
Looks like it might not have recovered full from restart. Is on the list but can't connect to it, getting the taking too long msg. Wait a few and try again.

And also remember that the weapon stats are for a single barrel. So multiple x5 for real shield and armor damage.

I agree with what Forlon said, your graphics card(s) and how you have them set is a determining factor. I have GeForce GTX 680's set for SLI and use the SweetFX setting. The result is simply amazing!

Do you see the mine field that is around the prison? Path into the prison is marked by two weapon stations and Nav buoys.

In line with the subject of this thread: The Dyson, while the wife is vacuuming up after the four legged critter who leaves hair everywhere! Can't hear anything else, even with the headphones on!

Welcome aboard, Synaptic! Glad to see you here. Enjoy the world of Crossfire and while you wait for your parts spend some time reading through this Portal and the Wiki. There are loads of information that will help you get started as well as tips on where to start first when you are ready. This game has both SP and MP. Right now MP is in Beta/Pre-release testing so one has to contend with the interruptions that will occur while the bugs are ironed out. SP on the other hand is fully ready to give you hours on top of hours of enjoyment and exploration of the vast Crossfire Universe. It is strongly recommended to play SP and follow the storyline as the best way to get the basics down. Hope to see you in MP when you are ready.

@AZ09 => GOOD choice!
"Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em" -
@NucNuc - Same thing happened yesterday except while I could Ctrl ESC to get to the desktop, nothing else would work. Had to hit the restart button.

Well, click on the "Alaska" link in your thread. That will take you to the Wiki entry and look at the System map tab.

@SilverFox - Thanks for the hint. Reminded me of something I hadn't looked at.

@Huor and Op - no "Missing files" as in "not there" but I think because I had selected the same particle color and cursors with the settings function that I had selected when i activated the mod, and then later, when things changed up, I didn't re-select them again.
This because I was thinking that I had already made that selection w/the mod activation. Or in other words, using the Launcher setting function overrides those initial settings, thereby giving you a headache later on when you ASSUME things should be OK but they aren't!
Thanks all for the help
- sorry for the trouble!
