  • unable to connect for 3 days now.

    Hey guys i got kinda same prob here. I can reach the characters screen for a sec and then the connection message appears. I got 112 ping and i see 14 ppl online right now. It was working before i installed latest updates for my laptop. I hope this is not interfereing because just before reboot, it was working fine.


    Tell me what is going on, do you guys see the cheat detected message online (maybe the updates makes the cheat detector crazy ?)

  • Crossfire 1.8 Bug fixing

    Bug : in OpenSP, Juneau Shipyard is hostile even if my friendliest faction is the Liberty Navy, the owner of the station. Didn't accidently shot someone or anything that could make them mad at me. Maybe a bug cause the nearby JG to X-3043 is hostile (owned by Nomad) and Nomad and LN are friends ??? !!! I don't know !


    Bug : I got stuck behind transports waiting to use JG. They were freezing there just before jumping. They do not move any more, just firing on enemies or even standing there doing nothing...
    I could jump usign the formation command by standing in the JG ring but thats not the ideal for everyone. Happened 3 or 4 times on gates in Liberty, Bretonia and systems between (Cortez, Magellan). Didn't explored elsewhere so i cant tell more.


    Suggestion : Could you please remove the "Access granted" only on Trade Lanes and jg/jh ? On stations and planets its good, even more when there is no voice for that station, but trade lanes, its is a bit redundant. I don't know if they can be different or it is a whole undissociable thingy indifferent to the type of docking.


    Congratulations : Those effects and HUD are simply amazing ! It is an all new game, even Liberty no longers feels like home ! i can't wait to get better ships and equipment to explore the far reaches of this new extended alien area. Again, very good job !

    What's the point in having so much starting money in SP ? and be friendly with everyone ? What, you want a navigable database to search for every new stuff without getting into trouble ? I doubt OP will offer you all CF1.8 secrets so easily, you'll have to face danger to explore my friend. Even if it is SP or MP.


    And besides it's always more fun to rush sometimes, otherwise you get bored pretty quick !


    EDIT : Hey OP, i read somewhere that laptops should use the compatibility mode. so I reinstalled and it works fine. I couldn't explore further yet cause i'm at work but tonight i'll get more to see than Manhattan's upper atmosphere ! For now, it just seems amazing ! All those little details even NY looks nice (which IMO was getting boring after all this time !). Can't wait to see elsewhere !

    Hey OP.


    Nice startup from what i saw. the blue/red HUD is quite style i love that.


    Unfortunately, cause it crashes just after the first cutscene in SP and after launching to space from manhattan in MP I cannot feedback more. i'll try to reinstall but it seems there is a known issue with this crash to desktop thing already reported. has there been solutions to that ?

    I'm going to be free on the 26th for sure. Crap could always come up so i couldn't be there but i will do my best.


    For the other days i'm working and my timezone makes the events in the middle of the afternoon for me so i won't be able to join.


    I'll also send the events calendar to my clan members and my friends so they might get interested to join too !

    I might add : Set "Total Control" to the user "Everyone" on the Freelancer folder in the security tab of the property window of the folder. I know that kind of thing gave me trouble with and ASP.NET app once cause i didn't had right to write temp files in a folder.

    Hi everyone one,


    One of my friend's having trouble starting the game after a fresh install of FL then CF1.7.


    The error is :



    Any idea how to fix this ?


    For the specs here's what i know : Running on vista, Windows Firewall disabled and no AV running, fresh install of FL.


    Please help !

    You want me to tell you our stance between the rum guys and badges holders ? Well its is pretty simple : we know that both parties have their point of view in their feud but in the end, both could be allies to our clan because both could help reach our main goals : explore and defend against the parasites and their creators. So I understand you might not like this but we won't play criminal if we have pirates friends nor we won't engage pirates even if we have police allies like we currently do. It was like this before and it didn't convince much pirates but that's it !


    If that doesn't convince you and you still wanna KOS, well so be it, we'll just avoid you as much as possible cause we don't seek the confrontation with you guys...

    Well its written in few places (even on the ad banner i posted cause its our motto) : We explore, we defend. We're custom RP.


    Before, we defined ourselves as mercenaries but we didn't even ask to be paid for helping civilians and freelancers so its not really a mercs clan. We could also be cops but we don't chase pirates, we're after the aliens. You could say we smuggle BMGs like Alias lists and Aliens schematics but its for the good of mankind we hold these things : to develop technologies that will better repel Nomads and DK. We might be a little pirate too because its always cool to stealth a bit and operate in shadows, to avoid civilians panic.
