  • What's been happening?

    Hi Shock


    Saturday there were a 15 member strong team of humans in IC systems giving the aliens hell, every second day I play around 3-4 SA members and also IOC Members.


    I see two-three UR members upholding the law just about every time I log in.


    I also see a lot of non-clan members, and RP is good, Aurelcici, Klrk, Whitehorse, etc makes nice gameplay.


    Deathstar is a new recruit - to FL, CF and SA and then there are a few other very regular newish players that are building up their reps and finances.


    I hope that the UK and US players will become more as they seem to visit us again more regularly as the summer appears to take hold there.


    At this point my Telephone line has a problem that the Telco is looking at , I get loss of 10-15 packets, and that makes it very difficult ti do any type of RP.

  • Crossfire and Windows 8 Release Preview

    Hi OP


    You can see my signature at the bottom and that is my computer hardware. In my instance, I did an UPGRADE and not a NEW INSTALL of Windows 8. That may have a bearing on the graphic drivers.


    Forlon The reason I upgraded was to test my development environments and my software I produce to make sure they work on Windows 8.


    Facebook and Windows 8 / IE 10 does have some problems, but I am not a great face-booker, so no problem for me.


    Swat-portal.com and Silverarrowsclan.com websites works just fine in IE10.


    My installations of CF and FL is in the c:\Freelancer directory and not in c:\program files\freelancer.

  • Crossfire 1.9 Windows 7 64 bit Workaround

    Even is you are the administrator and have admin rights, the build in User Security Model in Win Vista and Win 7 stops you from doing a installation if you don't run the install files 'As Administrator'.


    That is a special elevation that allows the installer program to temporarily bypass the security restrictions in the 'Program Files' or the 'Program Files (86)' directories and allows files to be installed that would normally be blocked. This is so that programs that are malicious cannot install themself i nthose directories, but need user interaction to get the elevation permissions.


    The only other way to install without caring what elevation rights you have on the system is to install into the root folder of your C drive ie c:\freelancer or onto another drive like D or E .


    Freelancer Crossfire only needs:
    1 - Original Freelancer Install from the CD
    2 - FMM1.3 Installed
    3 - Freelancer Mod extracted and installed.


    4 - PLAY PLAY PLAY

  • Where is the planetary fragment shield in Utopia please?

    Hi


    Way to kill drones.


    Fly and when you see them, kill engines. The allows you to 'burst Thrust' to change your direction and also turn your ship to face them.


    Kill their shields with your guns and then fire torpedos 'sunslayer' and thrust away .... then circle back to finish off.


    Practice these moves and you will be able to kill them at will without sustaining much damage other than to shields and they will not have a 'stationary' target to keep firing at.

  • HOW to access the chat on the forum

    At my company I allow people to also do 'private stuff' during work hours, as long as it is in moderation, as they do spend long hours at work.


    I also know a lot of my friends that allow it at their companies.


    What is restricted, is the software that can beloaded, specially FF and Chrome, both of whom ignore certain security settings and allows cookies and tracing to take place.

  • Another attempt at a Crossfire server...

    I wonder why people think they can hide where they are.


    As an isp, we know which accounts log into our servers and which IP addresses are allocated to those accounts. So do every other ISP in the world. The records are there... you cannot hid it. Some people wil ltry and make it more difficult, but that is just a delay in finding it.


    Of cause, this information is not valid to share unless ordered to do so by a court of law.


    Other than that, I am not afraid to let anyone know where I am and Who I am.


    I will also play on the 'real' swat server and not some imitation of it.
