A sight to the future beyond 1.9(1.9x 2.0), before 1.9 appears(dumb)...
I love Orion's idea of thinking ahead past the 1.9 release. It shows there is a plan into the future.. (the saying goes ...those that fail to plan, plan to fail)
I also like the idea of looking at the sol sector as a multi system sector ... The closer to real life the closer system are, the more entertaining and engaging.
Of cause all this speculation and ideas are something to put into a 'futurefile' and look at, ignore or do somethign with by the mod creators, but ideas from everyone .. how stupid or simple it may sound at the time, shows the community involvement and can and has often lead to great and amazing things.
There's only place for 1 map in-game... and all the systems won't fit in, neither by compressing Sirius into a corner to see more sectors at once(thing we tried
)
So, for your Information, not enjoyment >_>It is a pity there is space on the map for only about 225 systems (if each gridposition is occupied only by one system), but that is what we have to live with ... and it's not too bad

the new metro style interface get's a bit to get used to it, but I have installed Win8 Dev Preview (64 bit) on a laptop that struggled to run Win7 (64 bit) and it runs much smoother and faster.
It uses the same amount of RAM as Windows 7 ( even though MS says it should use less) but that may be just because it's a preview ...
It also looks like the internet connection is handling traffic much faster ... - Good news for Freelancer. ..
When Win8 goes commercial, I will definitely get it for end use purposes... but for Database Application Development, I will stick to Windows 7 for now

Freelancer and CF starts up beautifully in Windows 8 Dev Preview,
but the mouse is not recognised.I installed the Microsoft Intellipoint 8.2 driver and the mouse also works perfectly ...
It seems that the fonts used in freelancer are not all there, and the substitute fonts looks very nice.

I have it instaleld on all my pcs .. and in my mouse/joystick picture on another threat (my future mouse) , you can make out the toolbar is you look closely ( on the lefthand screen)
It's a valuable resource and saves a lot of 'bookmarkings, etc ...
