i was playing with an Xbox controller and it worked pretty well for looking at different UIs in the cockpit. I wasn't overly confused by it and there are some shitty HUDs out there (SPG2 and EVE isn't the greatest for example imo). It felt pretty straightforward to me when i first jumped into that sidewinder.
However, i think the UI for the commodities market could be easier to identify what that particular station is selling instead of having to see whats in stock and whats not
i picked up a Type 6 (because) and threw a business class cabin on it. First mission i took was for 700k+ cr and the planet the happy couple wanted me to take them to didn't exist within that suns orbit. So the second sun in the system (B) with the planet (6) and a moon (a) was the target body but didn't exist. went to 4 with no moons. It doesn't matter since Steam took their game back but i was curious why i couldn't see the orbit ring for the 5th and 6th planets and rightfully take them to their destination (and pick up some souvenir t-shirts) Should i have gone "up" (gee, spacial relatively is tuff) to see the second suns planets as if from a "top down" view (similar to System map) to find the planets i needed. I think it was 2 ranks higher than my current rank for the mission type. If i could remember the system name i could just look it up...
again, doesn't matter, steam took their game back after Humble Bundle refunded my money
i'm sure you could print it out...
granted, but Rick and Morty appear from a portal and explains to you that watching TV literally kills brain cells and gives you cancer while scientifically proving how stupid you are in this Universe and all the other infinite universes. Congratulations, your life now has no mean. You end it in a gruesome and horrifically entertaining, ironic manner...
I wish i didn't suck so bad at the tournament today ![]()
. hack sign too.
Granted but you age twice as fast in half the time of reality.
I wish for things to work out...
there was an old TC mod called Freelancer: Combat Evolved. It removed the arcady feel of space flight and added inertia and newtonian physics. space fights became games of chicken with magnetically accelerated cannons at 500+meters per second and all the ships were modeled from Halo until about Halo 3. Its a defunct community and some of my oldest fan-fic is archived there. Worked my way up to commanding a Marathon-class heavy cruiser in the UNSC and i was only 16. It wasn't long after i joined CF
Was a very well done mod i think. I also think Starpoint Gemini should be in the "very similar" category. I played a dozen or so hours of SPG2 and i was really impressed with how much it felt ripped off lol. I liked there was more grind mission variety such as taxing and shipping goods (vs the standard FL Kill ships, assassinate target, destroy station, retrieve bounty mission types)
yeah. I'm gonna toil in solo play until i get the hang of it and i get a better ship.
so far, no response from support. this is really poor
oh that's great information and really helpful! except my only problem it's not letting me sign up for an account. It says everything was created but none of my login info works. did i just waste 40 bucks? I'm not getting any confirmation email. Anything beyond installing the game in order to play it is a huge turn off for me. I haven't received anything from Frontier and had to verify a new computer on the launcher 5 times. it's very frustration. Just going ahead and getting my money back since that's 40 bucks i can use towards any number of better things such as car repairs, food, weed and paintball...
Shame me if you must, but took advantage and bought the regular edition (because i'm a cheapskate). Downloading it now. I don't need the Horizons to land on planets or only if i want to land on planets without atmospheres
*Edit* Just went ahead and picked up the season pass. I thought i had better things to do with my money and time...
plenty of ways to make money without having to get a "real job." Go hang out at your nearest hardware store and see if anyone needs some extra help for $10 an hour. Recycle cans for $$$, right a sign on a piece of cardboard that says any of the following:
"Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, god bless"
"Will Arm Wrestle your mother in law for a dollar"
"Empire killed my family, need money for Lightsaber"
"Bet you can't hit me with a quarter"
"College kid, need money for food"
Then, with your sign, go to the nearest freeway offramp, hold your sign and hang out for a few hours. You'll probably walk away with a few bucks in cash, maybe some winning lotto tickets, food from nearby restaurants and maybe even a job! Careful about law enforcement. Most cops won't write you a ticket or arrest you the first time they see you. They'll probably tell you to kick rocks and leave and not before getting on your case.
There are websites you can do surveys that pay cash, gift cards etc
And if all else fails, you can pick up the oldest profession in the world...
Hope that helps. It really all depends how badly you wanna play Elite Dangerous. I hear there's an obscene amount of grinding in that game...
You can see Jon Snow deciding whether to give him a dirty look. Or thinking "wow...thanks..."
this game is over 14 years old. 60fps was unheard of back then. You'll have to lower your standards for an old ass game...or not play it
That would be mega petty though
And even IF there was a 60fps hack for freelancer, it would look like shit. It would be like trying to play Doom II on a 60" plasma.
Had the biggest fangasm after seeing this
here's something i don't understand. Why does every encounter with another RP have to automatically be a space battle? It's like that's not fun. If i wanted to PVP, i would go to Arena. But if i wanted to shake down a pirate without it being an aggressive encounter, oh no. Just ignore me and go "lol, go"
You wanted role play, i give you role play. But i'm not gonna waste my time trying to make this server interesting if it's always gonna end in a pvp battle. that's no fun
Ever wonder why i never am on the server? because i'm not any good at PVP. I really never was. I played this game so for long because it was a reliable place to let my imagination go crazy a little bit. I'm one of those types of people who gets zero joy out of playing video games when all i'm doing is getting killed getting from point a to point b. thats....not fun. CF1.7 was the Golden Years of CF. #NeverForget
Not only that, i sit in front of a computer for a living and i can't sit in front of my own computer for more than a couple hours at a time and it's tiresome. There's just not enough people who share my vision and willing to help make that vision a reality. Get 3 or 4 people on a role play mission and suddenly the whole server is in on it. And it's not one big giant pvp f**kfest. And i'm not just talking about the IC expedition missions or things like that. Ya'll just wanted the base in IC so you had some place to save. Nobody wrote a story about it's significance, harrowing tales of gallantry when a Train was under attack and was saved by whoever. I wasn't there for that construction but it would be neat if a new guy gets to the IC, sees the base after reading this epic tale of it's construction and is like "wow....i can't believe i'm here..."
I'd rather share my wisdom on the forums, lol.
okay okay, lets not make this a pissing contest for best RP type and lets focus on taking down this scourge!
"What do you mean you don't have it anymore???" Cantana exclaimed. He was about ready to throw the desk attendant out the airlock. Kensington Shipyards was the last place he docked his Celetis Dreadnought, The Reaper and paid the stationmaster very well to maintain his ship in drydock. Focks learned that his ship was stolen by Pirates, stripped and abandoned in Omega 3 before a Freelancer with a tow line stumbled upon it and dragged it back to New London for demolition. He couldn't believe it. His baby, his powerful baby was going to be reduced to a vat of molten steel. The Silver Tongued Devil managed to get the location of the junkyard from the clerk at Kensington and piled back onto his Helios and set a course for New London, diverting all power to engines.
By the time he had reached New London, the Mississippi Queen was practically falling apart at the bolts. He had shut down basically every system on his ship and rerouted it to the engines. This of course, caused the engines to overheat and every alarm the Queen could sound was going off by the time she reached New London Orbit. He took a shuttle to the coordinates given by the clerk and soon after clearing the docking ring atmos-side he sped over to the junkyard where the Celetis was awaiting her fate. It was heartbreaking for Cantana to see his ship in such a state of disrepair. It made him wonder how long he was actually gone. The hull had huge patches of rust, none of the weapons were mounted and he was sure his secret stash of space grass was missing. He went to the office of the yard and demanded the manager release the dreadnought.
Cantana wasn't expecting to get into a fist fight over a rusted, decaying ship, but the manager certainly had an attitude that he himself, never would have though that Cantana Focks, Owner of the mega-corporation Focks Inc would be in his office demanding the release of a rusted, decaying ship. Eventually it was clear to the manager that Cantana Focks wasn't all talk as he had assumed for many years, so he gave the ship back
Everyone is either trying to make others' lives difficult or make a dollar at the expense of others, Focks thought. It was strange that one of the most heavily patrolled areas of Bretonia still had a pirate problem, and it only seemed to be getting worse. Cantana waited at a bar while his Celestis was being restored, drinking probably one of the best Sidewinder Splits he'd ever drank considering it's the first he's drank in a long time after being in Gemini for so long. He was watching the news and became curious as to how much piracy became a problem in Sirius. He picked up his datapad and began scrolling through local news of other houses. It seems to be a widespread problem especially with these newcomers causing problems. "The Inspector?" Cantana laughed "What kind of name for a pirate is THAT? The only thing he's gonna be inspecting is the inside of a space casket one day..." He got up from the bar and began to walk around the shopping complex.
The Silver Tongued Devil began to think. Sirius use to be much safer. The Bretonian Navy used to be a formidable force and he saw the Essex get completley disabled in a single salvo by pirates who would never have been able to get a hold of that kind hardware. He chose Kensington to store his ship due to it's military association and heavy defenses, but it seems they were able to walk in and take it from their under their noses. Not only that, the impound guy was trying to hustle Cantana Focks out of his money for his own ship. This absolutely angered the Silver Tongued Devil. Law didn't exist in Sirius anymore and it seemed like nobody was willing to do anything about it.
Cantana had to think long and hard before he made his next decision. It would probably just be him trying to clean up the galaxy from filthy rats and it would also probably cost him a fortune in Insurance claims for replacement ships. Trying to enforce the law was going to be tough and he wouldn't be able to cover all of Sirius alone. He figured he might be able to get some of the Corsairs still loyal to him to do some of his wet work for him but there was the matter of regular patrols and security checkpoints and it just seemed like a huge task to take by himself. If he's lucky, he'll be able to come across someone else trying to establish rule of law back in Sirius.
It would be a while still before the Reaper would be completely restore. So Cantana went to a hotel and got a room, since he had few days to kill. If there was one thing Cantana hated the most, it's waiting....
TSH is supposedly a police clan but they do nothing but trade and run. They should be patrolling the skies, scanning freighters for contraband, shaking down people with pirate licenses and responding to reports of piracy and rampant behavior. Police clans cannot enforce server rules, but they CAN enforce laws within Sirius. Like you can't be speeding in a school zone or if theres a collision, they have to be dispatched to determine what happened and who's at fault. like Cops in real life almost
Yes, that's right - but your clan shall be sw in to a smuggler clan because you trade most of the time instead hunt rats like me.
Where are your clan when I am hunting and taxing the other players? Especially you flying, most of the time from New York to your clan system only. I never saw that you hunt pirates.
I know it is not your duty to hunt rats like me. Of course, you can do what you want. But, in my opinion, it will helps more when even you will take a active part of rp.
(emphasis mine)
It's exactly his duty as a member of a police clan to hunt rats. Yet there is SO MUCH more a player being a cop can do to stir RP. Don't even need to be corrupt.
Kermit, i don't know what rubbish youre thinking of, but if you only have ships in SoS and Texas, you're only experiencing 1% of Crossfire and it's Multiplayer
