    i've bought about 14-15 Altair ships and 4 Different Sirius ones so far with no problems at all. Going to buy another 5 in the next day or 2 to just have a quick play with. Any special requests for quick test or double check on a crash, just call. I have a very stable install.

    to add to what Diablo said, When you exit the game using Alt-F4 , for cases when theres red lag, the game exits immediately and freelancer terminates correctly. With normal exit, you cannot re-launch the game until Freelancer.exe has been released from memory 0x0 otherwise you get Error code returning in Launcher. I dont think this is a problem with client side which is affecting the server crashed in regard to this. If it was then the clients would have a bigger cumulative problem and CTD would happen eventually.


    To be honest i think its just certain people doing certain things on the server with a bad install, and until people actually help out and post here when they keep getting a CTD the problem wont get solved.

    if it helps, there was a few seconds of yellow lag, it cleared then went reg lag about 30 seconds after

    ah right i see what your saying, yes nice idea, the transport and large transport might be worth using aswell then. instead they are kinda left out all the time. They are awesome tho fitted with BS turrets :D i used them for a bit and even taxed with them, but the repair costs are very high, so you have to really be doing BMG runs to make these profitable ships.


    I dont know whether the mooring fixtures can distinguish between trains and transports tho can they?

    adjust launcher to search for a build number file. include a new build number file in the download which extracts a file with encrypted build number inside. Server verifies build number with launcher. Cant launch the game without this check agreeing.


    Everyone would need to download the mod again or they cant launch the game.


    Of course this could be manipulated but maybe less would manipulate it for the sake of keeping server up. Just trying to think of easy to implement solution.

    totally agree, however, dynamic economy is not really dynamic, it seems to be semi-dynamic. the same runs are always there at some point. If however the Commodities were Randomly assigned to Random stations every server restart, we would have less huge money traders, as they would be searching for profits rather than just logging in on a certain day to do a certain run. Once a route is found, it would always be a different route :)


    Do think it wouldnt be a bad idea to have more morrings in X region, but then thats up to OP for whatever reasons.

    Bond you are indeed correct that its a matter of pride, and remember i did take part in these battles over 1 single tax for many years, i know the economics. People who want to win all the time do the expensive missile spamming. and gain 100k credits per kill and spend maybe 60-100 million in a battle. People like me, die maybe a bit more than 50% of the time, loosing 100k here and there, and spend maybe 500k on mines and CDs total. Clan that looses are the ones who spend the most money, unless they are playing for pride only, which means they are just looking at stats.


    It will be interesting to see what happens with the missile cooldown in place.

    I liked the BMG run from Cortez to Malta, 60 mil per run, well worth it, and meant you went through X, nobody bothers with that run for some reason, but it does open up RP possibilities.


    I disagree that RP costs so much as per my other post. but yes, more trade routes being used would be good variation. I put the lack of variation down to Pirates and Police not doing their job properly. If the main runs cost the traders a lot of money in tax or Blown up ships, then the lesser used routes would become a safer option, so they would sacrifice a little profit in order to get there safeley.


    Personally i would like to see higher maximum Tax and Fines in the server rules for people on rank 90+ or even 80+. That would liven the server up a bit.

    RP doesnt cost money, it makes money, you only loose money if you are a person who does Pure Fighter vs Fighter PvP and are not taking part in RP. Most of the money in RP comes from Traders or Bounties. You are not telling me a Merc that does Fighter vs Fighter RP loses money, the bounties are 1m+ each, and if your spending that kinda money to kill someone then maybe you need to ditch the expensive missiles/mines, and learn to do it with cheaper equips.


    Anyway, kinda moving off topic, but i had to put that word in, as RP-PvP cost was mentioned and i think that is not correct.

    There must be still several people running on the first download not the second as during the night, theree are never crashes, server was running excellent for 6 hours straight, but during the day, it crashes ever 5-6 minutes so far, hard to even get from one station to another.


    not a complaint just an observation.
    But seriously the people who play during the day should come on when its a bit less busy so we can find out who is crashing it.

    we should all respect each others way of playing CF, so long as they are acting within server rules.


    Some people like to trade. Personally i know why Titius did only trading, and i respect it. He and some others who trade are regular tax payers, and some use the money to hire mercs to protect them.


    And if Spiky does want to map everything to benefit the knowledge base of BG clan, then who are we to stop him.


    With this money thing, we take it on the chin. And move on, OP did what he feels was right, regardless of whether some think its wrong, its OPs server and we dont have rights to things. For whatever reasons, fair or not fair. Its done.
