    Even so - I would still prefer (freelancer) pirates to include an X in their name so I know what they are once i see them on the scanner or system chat.


    The pirates dont have to do that cos in the RP rules - it does not mention it - an oversight?


    Nevertheless I would appreciate a simple X in your name as that would help me steer clear :-)


    Pirate Clans dont need an X in their name once their RP is established and publicised as such.


    Otherwise someone called FoodRationTrader could become the most deadliest pirate on the seas.

    Maybe we all lost our pvp skills during the long period Crossfire was unavailable and waiting to be downloaded from Lancers = probably not.


    I actually think that some changes occured in 1.7 either planned or unplanned that has now affected PVP.


    My own evidence for this is simple - people that beat me easily in PVP in the previous version - are now finding it harder - and I dont think I improved in pvp cos the server was unavailable so I couldnt practice.


    This could be an affect of the (yes I am ignorant I know) of the dynamic universer or the asf/csf scoring thing.


    As for missiles not locking - several people have told me this - and I am for keeping it this way :-)

    Good luck in findoing what ur best ship is mate - no doubt you will have fun trying the different ones.


    For PVP purposes - I recommend the Karak or Saracen from Altair - thats not a clan system so u can buy without any worries.


    Apparently the Kossac is good but I dont like its poor cargo capacity.


    The ships are well balanced in this mod and usually their is a balance between speed and agility, hull strength, cargo cap and power (is that right)

    one of the best times to explore is when u get the Dexter Hovis mission, dont complete it , but explore.


    Cos this mission does not depend on making money b4 u reach the next level - trading and exploring wont crash the game -


    I think at that level u can buy Shroud from Tarsus - most other ships will be beyond ur range though cos many of them level dependent. (I know this as in SP i came back and did the Hovis race in a Shroud!)


    U may also want to fix ur rep with many factions before doing this mate - as many of the new systems are police etc and u will be attackd by Outcasts etc

    Re - the dynamic universe and 'Uber Routes'


    What is happening is that hi value BMG routes can be found in the next system,


    for example in the last 3 days


    NL to Dublin and NL to Leeds


    these routes can be 8k profit per item


    this needs to be sorted by OP - or smoothed out a bit more - cos if its random - this will happen everynow and again.


    However, if its random, but happens often - then yep we all gonna be rich!!


    Let's wait and see if it happens often or rarely.

    It looks like the Dom Kavash have invaded New Tokyo - this happens everynow and again until they are repelled - then they invade somewhere else like Berlin or New London.


    The CF News Network suggests they will invade somewhere in Kusari Space.


    Hopefully some of our brave fighters will jump into the breach and kill them - not me though cos they too hard.

    I have downloaded from LR just now and installed Blaster Universe. FMM managed to install it ok and I have loaded game and watched starting video - however when I try and connect I cant see the Blaster Universe link on servers - am I thick?

    Not seen any evidence to suggest LR are delib being slow. I suppose like many people there is a lot of work to do and not enough people to do it. Also I read somewhere one of their key people is away.


    Also, OP has posted somewhere on SWAT that he would pay some monies towards LR for new server. They prob have a backlog and need to catch up - maybe these sort of sites always have a backlog?


    BTW - Dopple - thanks for PM - A tenner is on the way to you to cover the costs!!
