  • Suggestions for Crossfire 2.0

    i played the SP-story just 2 weeks ago and did not make any mission to come to higher level 8).
    in fact, u only need to kill some npc-s from time to time, take their pods and sell them in any prison.
    ok, to start again: i am sure u have some of those pods. go to the new Crossfire-system with the name Custodian. u will find the gate to Custo in New York between planet Manhattan and the Colorado jumpgate. go there, find the next jumpgate to X3043, then go to Neophobos and sell the pods in that prison there. u get enough credits to buy a better ship. i prefer the Black Eagle which u get in Custodian at planet Blood. take the class 8 weapons there and u have a nice ship, that lets u easily finish the whole freelancer vanilla story. after that u have enough credits to buy better ship and equipment, that u will need for the new Crossfire-story.

  • Crossfire Maps

    uhm, unfortunately some maps of Inner-Core-systems are not available atm. after finishing the moon-infocards we should focus on Wiki again.


    and for the players, who liked the PX-clan-map, u will find it attached. the links to the system-maps wont work, but for a fast overview this map is nice.

  • killing for no reason or fun

    well, the pirate-problem is really annoying, i fully agree.


    some days before, 3 of them came to me, each one wanted 5 mill. even if i wanted to pay, there was no time for that. one of them shot me after some seconds.


    then, one or two days later, the same happened to my son. he DID pay. but was shot, because he had no time to pay the 3rd pirate.


    and when i staged the event Small Race , a pirate in Texas disturbed one of "my" racers. this racer was level 18!


    another pirate taxed me in Texas and he was 4 k away. i told him to come and i will pay, but will not go to him. and he didn't come to me, so i flew to NB. well, when i was in NB then he switched to his char there and shot immediately without taxing.


    then this absurd high tax of 9 mill in Inner Core ...


    i think, some of those pirates just want to up their frags.


    yes, i have a problem with pirates behavior too and hope that the new features in 2.0 about pirate-RP will ease the live of other players.

  • Let's Play Freelancer w/ Crossfire!

    one year ago my son asked me to look for a sequel of freelancer. i told him "no, there isn't". well, he found this "let's play fl cf" (in German). so yeah, i was wrong. there is a sequel, it is crossfire :D and i am happy, that i was wrong :rolleyes:

  • Good Hot Tips Needed

    why "either" and "or"? why not "as well as"? 8).


    me for example has both systems (Win7 and Kubuntu) on one computer. i have to choose in the beginning, which system shall be started. that's it. both system are running perfectly. and if one of them crashes, there is still the other one to rescue all datas (in case u saved them on an extra partition).


    u can install Kubuntu, while Win7 is already installed. it takes the necessary space from the hdd, makes new partitions (which u won't see from Win7). as i kbow, it is possible to install most Windows-programs in Linux. there are at least 2 options that i know: VMware (creates a virtual machine, where u can install Win7 again :D ) or WinE (=Windows-Emulator, i never tried that out).


    maybe u have seen the player "Free-4-Live" on the server. he has Mac-system, used a virtual machine too and is able to play CF.
    another player told me, he runs CF on native system AND on virtual machine. so he can play CF twice at the same time with 1 computer (what is rly helpful, if u need transfer and are frightened someone could kill ur store ;) )

  • new launcher doesnt work anymore

    ok, the Gecko-problem in my WinXP-Computer is solved (i installed .net framework 3.5).


    next problem:
    when i double-click the freelancer-shortcut on my desktop i get a new error-message (see picture below). i can click "weiter" and the new launcher appears (2nd picture). it downloads all updates without problems. but when i want to launch multiplayer (or singleplayer) a second message appears (3rd picture).
    in the first message-box i can click "Deetails". there is a long list of details. unfortunately without possibility to print or even resize the message-box. in 4th picture u can see the first lines.


    where can i change this "SelectedIndex"-value? and what value should be there?


    any suggestions?
