Boeing 747-400 Jumbo Jet and BTW, the Realism is on ![]()
Confirm, it needs alot of RAM for the big cout of objects/models and for some reason the game run only on one of the two cores instead. But hey, i have ~15FPS ![]()
Boeing 737-800 at 10KM altitude and about 210-220 knots speed.
Really nice plane, well arranged internal cockpit, good manual control over the craft and for a first tiem i spend soem time to see how the autoilot perform - you can tell him to control only altitude or course or speed or all of them or none of them (means manual control). You can even set degrees of slant when it needs to turn to given from you course. Really great plane from Boeing ![]()
Managed to take off only once with Boeing 747-400 (Jumbo Jet - 4 engines) and its hell! This one is crying for autopilot ![]()
Whoah! Wonder where to start from. I saw alot and alot is to be seen (and should be cause 12-13GB is alot for a game) in this simulator. There are 24 aircrafts of all types - acrobatic small planes, planes without engines (you know those planes dragged by other plane to to specific altitude and use air flows), small planes, small business planes, small bussiness jet planes, big jet planes, helicopters ... Over 2000 detailed airports - just to give you example - i guess most of you dont really know where Bulgaria really is and its not a big country, thats true but the game have 44 airports described for Bulgaria. There are aiports of all over the world. There are training lessons, you can fully configure the level of realism - you can change it to be able to hit the groudn and keep flying way up to the - one wrong manuver or wrong speed can oversteer the aircraft and technical failiures can be simulated too. Or you can fly with turbo jet plane at 9KM+ altitude and you would see the white smoke of the hot engines behind the aircraft if you look it from outside. Sound effects mach verry good.
I'm currently learnign to fly on Bombandir LearJet 45 - small business plane with two turbo jet engines. Made a successfull flight from Airport Burgas (near Black Sea) to Plovdiv's Airport (200-250KM range) for 20-25min. Hey i mean its verry realistic eve nconciderign the distances and speed. Screenshot is taken at ~7KM altitude. For bigegr distances i usally fly at 10-11KM altitude.
Each aircraft have its own control panels, internal look and characteristics/behaviour, flight range. You can choose the weather or choose a real-time weather - the game will use online weather database and update the weather while you're flying at evry 15min. You think you can fly? Try a night or foggy landing. There is free flight and missions. You can play or create server online, or play LAN game. There is so much things that i event couldnt test evrything. Ah nearly forgot - you can take job as Air Control in airport too ![]()
Here is some more screenshots on the net: check them out
As far as i know its verry fast (but how much exactly i dont know) internal port just like USB but much faster and i havent seen any device using it. As just a port, 1394 is not a device itself.

If possible, all players who use Windows Vista to run FL and CF, please check for this "A" sign in circle next to the typing box:
Sign is flashing from white to green or purple, depend on the channel you're writtign to. Me personally never seen it before and it only appear when typing.
There is one new leaked beta for Windows Vista RTM both 32-bit and 64-bit editions. I personally dont recommend you those cause after i spend some time looking in the files i think they are older and dont support OpenGL. Driver is not been modified cause as i said - dont recommend you installing thise.
All cards from GeForce FX to GeForce 7 supported. There is no Control Panel and setup included. You have to install those manually - throught Device manager installing nv_LH.inf which is included in both versions of the driver.
Finally when my FL is working on Vista, with surprice i found that my connection now is even better - nearly none lost packets, far better than before. I dotn know is it my ISP or windows job but i'm happy ![]()
What i wrote have nothing to do with real lag, if you have this issue what i described then you might think you have lag and actually its totaly different kind of problem which only concern what you see on your display and in same time your connection might be perfect.
BTW this option with memory dedication is missing in Windows Vista, only the CPU sheduling is still there.
Recently i found out that if Vertical syncronization is not forced on in my video driver for FL its quite nasty to play - high fps but not smooth, its a bit jumping or liek you have low fps (sounds funny isnt it). Its caused when you originally have high fps but it often jump with 20-30fps up or down and the huge gap which appaer evry second makes it looks liek you dont have enough FPS

i can say that 97.02 works on WinXP.
i can't say how good it works coz i'm using Nvidia GeForce 2 MX 100/200.
it doesn't works realy good with new drivres, so i'm back for 61.77(oldest i could found)
maybe you know where i can download 4x.xx nvidia vga drivers for winxp?
You can find even much older drivers if you log with FTP program at ftp://download.nvidia.com then go to folder Windows.
I usually have good ping - about 50-60 but its a bad connection - one of the ppl with most lost packets which leads to jumping.
New driver around is the leaked ForceWare 96.94 originaly used in GeForce 8800 GTX/GTS reviews. Its Windows XP/2000 driver with international language support. Whats interesting here is the driver contain information about 5 additional models based on nvidia's brand new G80 core. However originally it still dont support them. driver is been moddified to support all graphic cards including those 5 additional models which i choosed to be identified as "NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Series" (because there is no official info about the upcomming products and their names). Driver is not been tested cause i have only Windows Vista atm but you should have no problems. Driver been recompressed. Enjoy.
Installation: run the exe to extract the files wherever you want and start the included setup.exe inside.
The idea is ppl to get informed about new versions of nVidia ForceWare drivers, some interesting betas and modifications if needed. Those of you who want, can help and post such info, links to the drivers and share their experiance. If links are given i'll try to update the list bellow to be easier for the rest to get to them.
