(and as stated in posts above I have not broken this agreement)

    Did you MEAN THIS.?
"The Crossfire Mod does only extent the original game and is a non commercial product created for the fans of the original game."

    :))

  • you simply ignore the previous statements... fine

then ill simply add random key that prevents that ppl can connect to other servers than the authorized

really i dont see a reason to discuss about this any longer if my statements keep being ignored

Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

  • HONESTLY...Whats the harm?

Making a big fuss over nothing, remember the ONLY reason why we don't play on the main portal is because of the lagg issue, we in this part of the world don't have access to massive bandwidth, in fact New Zealands internet standards are very poor when compared to say Germany.

Now again I can't figure why it is such a big deal...there are many mods for Freelancer out there (granted none quite as good as Crossfire!) and none would create such a fuss as this I'm sure in fact they would be flattered. I'm sure the amdimistrators of the Australasian server mean no disrespect or in anyway depreciate from the efforts of those who create and work to further this great mod. In fact I'm sure the Admins would take every means to abide by the creators wishes so that the integrity of main Swat portal community and modded software is kept intact, why such emphasis on the negative?

Look I want to play this mod in multiplayer, I can't play and enjoy the mod in laggy Swat just not a done thing, so I search on the servers menu for an alternative, there we go Australasian server and yes a low ping I CAN PLAY, wonderful! Now to read the creator is anal as wont share is toys, it is very childish and selfish, especially an old game like a Freelancer. One way or other I'm playing this with my friends!

As far as I was concerned the game (freelancer) is a commercial product of Microsoft and I doubt any copyright can be applied to the modification of said product, (I will email some peeps in microsoft and send them relevant details so I can confirm this(and I will)) I would like to see how this could stand up in court...In New Zealand :D

Ok maybe a solution; increase the mains server's upstream to 100 mbit or even better :) comon you people in that part of the world it shouldn't be an issue, that way our ping with the Portal should be in the range of at least playable...unless you don't care to have a true international feel?

Oh by the way 128kb/s-512kb/s is our standard for upsteam whats yours?

    Sublite

  • 1. you can call it whatever you want... Crossfire was created just for this portal and will stay only for this portal

    2. copyright law of 2004 say that the intelectual work of somebody is always copyrighted... that includes the mod
you can go to MS and ask them... you can also go there to tell them not to allow the CF mod any longer... but that does include that all other mods in FL are not allowed aswell
but honestly i believe you wouldnt even get an answer from MS

    3. the server is running on a 100mb line and bandwidth has nothing to do with ping
