As several players and SP know, over the past few days, it has been noticed that Gigantula has been causing insane amounts of lag on the server. He was online earlier today and lag was not as bad, but it was still bad enough. Someone needs to talk to him about his connection or any other problems he may be having that would cause this problem, and help him get it fixed. The lag is killing me, and its annoying to boot. He also has a strange new trick; spontaneously jumping to other systems without moving a meter outside of the sation where hes docked <_<. Dont know how he does it, but however hes doing it may be whats making him and the server lag. Someone please find out whats wrong with this guy. Its getting really frustrating.

I think it may not just be him. Since the dynamic economy was fixed my ping has been greatly increased. My ping norm starting since I got here and up to last week was between 196 and 220. Since then I've visited about a dozen times. The lowest pings were between 280 and 420, and the rest were between 800 and 1,100. Obviously this is too much lag to really do anything... I haven't been around at all because I can't acomplish anything. I hope the lag problem is fixed at some point, as nothing has changed on my end :\

Lance, I sorry to say my ping has been consistant before and after Dyn Eco fixed. Ping at 187. Good luck m8. Hope you find the cause.

Likewise I have noticed insane amounts of lag from Gigantula - especially at the Twilight Madness event, and just afterwards. I also spoke to him briefly about it, and he logged off with the intention of fixing it. It seems this hasn't worked, so I will talk to him again - most likely with the result of a temporary ban until the problem is sorted.
lance: My ping hasn't changed too much either m8, but I did go through a short period (close to a week all up) where I had sometimes had 500-650 ping, or else 900-1400 ping. I ended up solving it by raking my ISP over the coals, as well as giving my computer a complete defragment, anti-virus/spyware check, diskcheck etc.
I'm not sure which of them actually sorted it, but either way my ping was back to normal levels (for me) the next day...

P.S. Have you tried running a traceroute to the server?

I must be very lucky, because I always get a stable 45-60ms ping (according to the FL server browser), and when I am playing online, I rarely feel lag.
But yes, Gigantula does cause some lag because during the ASF/CSF fight over California at the beginning of the week, I had a yellow lag icon going on and off. Also, he is just a troublemaker who won't listen to the rules. During the fight, Gigantula asked BG_Magoux (who was fighting!) for a 1 million credits tax...
First of all, he should not have been there (and Magoux had to ask several times for him to leave before he actually did), and second of all, if he truly was causing lag, he should've been kicked because the server gets unstable when large amounts of players are in one system.
I recon he should be banned temporarily until his connection is truly fixed.

I think Ghost was very annoyed with Gigantula. He came back after you left Ghost and he was not lagging at all
I think my lag has also reduced considerably and now because of that I can fight better

Lance I have the same problem with my ping, is goes up and down. Last Saturday I had a low ping but packets losses, because OP check the connections during the event. I called my ISP and they fixed the problem of the packets losses last Tuesday.
Anyway my ping was ok that day and yesterday was very high, around 600, when I usually have between 160 and 200. Today is again in 165.
Dont know what the problem is but like I said, some times the ping just go up. Check your ping before entering the game and you will see that sometime is going to be ok.

PS: Did you install the patch that maybe will help with the ping. I installed and I didnt need it.

I installed the patch the day it was released... I'll try logging on later and seeing if it's improved at all. It's been about a day since I last tried.
