  • Well done LP for initiating the exellent RP in manchester
    so many of us have enjoyed so much


    after the big battle on fri eve (gmt) which i enjoyed so much i was speaking with amhos and we shared the
    opinion that there needed to be some rules of engagement in that battle as it ended up a kill and respawn free for all with every1 docked at birmingham
    enjoyable as this was its my opinion that some rules
    or possibly aggrements between the 2 clans involved,
    in this case LP and BG.


    I dont know what thes rules or aggrements should be
    but to improve the RP i think we could use some to help
    facilitate a more level playing field. and thus improving the experiance for all involved.


    in the case of the last battle which started as a LP blocade it ended up LP was swamped by enermys
    while good for traders on the sol run maybe (the fighting aside) not so good for LP or at least not tha fair on them.


    any opinions/ ideas for rules or a structure for aggrements please post here

    I agree, and this is a prime example of how such events kick off. It starts off small and grows in players.


    And once the battle has started its hard to get ppl to stop and and reform under some rules.


    But that's exactly what we have to do. We have to decide at what point a simple 3 on 1 RP-PVP becomes a "mini-event" / battle for a system.


    Once there were 3-4 on each side, we should stop the melee, elect group leaders, agree to rules of engagment and start again. Once restarted only group leaders would have the power to stop the melee.


    This will take some disipline on everyone's part.


    But once the melee has stopped, we could group up and each group exit the system and dock. Once that happens neither group should dock in the contested system. Then respawns woud occur outside the system and we would be able to tell when one side is victorious.


    I don't like the one-death and your out rule, because everone likes another shot at whoever killed them, etc.


    But we could do it with rounds where newcomers and the dead remain outside the system until everyone in one group is defeated. That round would go to the victory, then the everone would respawn as a group and then round 2 would take place and so on. This would go on until one group gained a superior number of victories or capitulated.


    I also like the idea of matched numbers of ships. Perhaps for each round we could add newcomers and freelancers to even up the numbers. It would be the group leaders reponsibliliy to add members to their group (chat).


    Although fighting my good friend Gunny 3 on 1 seems to be the wisest course of action. :)


    As for newcomers and freelancers, we would just need to deal with them. I don't want to exclude them I want everone that can participate to do so. If a freelancer joins the battle and kills a group member, that group member would be able to respawn and reenter, after telling the freelancer what is going on and encouraging them to pick a group, goto that groups respawn base and await the next round,


    Please continue to post your ideas, my opinion is just one of many and everyone's opinion is valuable.

    i like the idea for the out of system dock and respawn
    it would allow the better team to dominate the battle


    maybe to keep numbers equal we could adopt a tag team approach when out side system (when ther is to many for each or 1 team)
    i.e. wait at sytem gate and when 1 of you team dies
    the next player enters system.


    also the frag limit could be set by team leaders to decide
    winner and losers agree to 24hrs out of that system
    this is very similar to asf/csf former role play

    Basically will be dock outside the system, attack, live and don't let live, respawn, re-enter system, maybe for one hour?

    Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

  • It seems to be a question of when does the clan role play turn into an ASF v CSF Role Play battle.


    Cause some of the things being discussed sound like ASF-CSF concepts.


    I dont think u can turn one into the other.


    I think we are just missing the ASF-CSF battles and trying to find a substitute.


    I would rather work towards getting the ASF-CSF Role Play restarted. The rules for that are already formed. It only needs a few issues clarified and off we go again.

    and i dont see why we cant do both as what we started to discuss here was basically "how do we improve pirate
    blocade and counter blocade RP"
    so even if the rules of engagement are similar it can only mean more big battles (that every1 seems to love)


    but i do support working through the asf/csf problems
    and i think runnig the big battles that we once had can only strenghten this server and make it more attractive
    to new commers.


    and if we have other RP that provides bigger battles
    then all is the better


    there is also the potential for pirate and police clans to fight each others blocades aswell not to mention police and trader clans and trader and pirate clans


    so in time we may have the situation where these big battles can start a number of ways and its my opinion
    that is exactly the kind of thing that will put CF as the best server to play on period.(but this is just one mans opinion so dont flame me if you disagree)
