Crossfire 1.62 Open SP Assistance Request

    I see there is a link at Lancers Reactor for the Open SP, specifically for the Crossfire 1.62 MOD. This link apprears to be 'broken' and I would apprecite if someone could re-direct me to a working link to obtain this Open SP download for Crossfire ver 1.62. I thank thee in advance, in anticipation ...

    I would post a link, but I think I used the one that you said is now broken...does anybody have alternate means of attaining the file for this person? ?(

    does it need a Open SP mod? i only activated 1.62 and selected Open SP b4 activation, then it works.

    Yes. And I've also heard of issues with the program crashing when selecting "new game" to start the single player portion. I believe this is due to the "hardware acceleration" issue for sound cards many have experienced.


    For me the solution was to select "Sound and Audio devices" under windows control panel. Choose "Advanced" under speaker settings. Then click on the "Performance Tab". Once there you can use the slider to select "None" for the Acceleration option.

    Many tnx for the advice Freelancer Junkies - Don't I just feel a 'tad' dim 8o - Anyways, am experiencing 'crash to desktop currently' but shall overcome as I be a Cat of Faith & am totally looking forward to Crossfire 1.62 - Once again, many tnx for assistance ...

    Cat, all of my crashing problems stemed from one of two causes. Bad install and Sound Card Hardware accelleration.


    Try this. Unintall everthing FL related. Delete directories and registry keys.


    Turn hardware accelleration off for your sound card.


    Reinstall FL, FLMM and CF mod.


    If you still experince crashing, come back here and post any events in your system logs etc.


    Don't give up, we'll get you going eventually.
