And here comes a new ship and its stages of creation. This time a fighter.
Here we go:
The usual starting box.
Here I turned this box into a component which I copied then and mirrored it. Advantage is that every edit I do on one box is also automatically applied to the 2nd box. That will speed up the creation.
Now I started to rotate the boxes and give them their rought shape.
At this point I made the shape a bit less blocky and started to add basic engines.
Another box was added which later will turn into the cockpit.
Now I extended the wings and added fins to them.
Out of the middle box I shaped the basic cockpit structure.
A top fin has been added and a few additional details were added to the wings.
The lower cockpit part was shaped.
And the engines got a more detailed structure.
Done.
Creation time 1 hour.
The ship is very low polygon but on fighters you can usually add lots of details with textures.
