OK enough of this "my language is bigger than your language" nonsence.
I
refer all of you to the following web
site
http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0775272.html
Which states the
10 most common languages as:
Chinese (Mandarin) 1075m
English
514m
Hindustani 496m
Spanish
425m
Russian 275m
Arabic
256m
Bengali 215m
Portuguese
194m
Malay-Indonesian 176m
I hope you all find what you are looking
for.

There are more spanish spoken people than english spoken people. The facts
shown on that link are base on demorgraphic or population area but not what real spoken
language people. By the way, My facts come from courses I took in USA such as minorities
courses (non considering as minority anymore) and Linguistic courses plus some more info
from some university proffesors
So Im not the one saying spanish spoken population
is bigger than english spoken population. USA professors with (not even mexican american)
phd are saying that...
If you are goin to take some webpage to backup your facts we
could go on and on. Such is theses one saying different things and stating different
facts:
http://www2.ignatius.edu/faculty/turner/languages.htm
wich made
a mambo jumbo analisis to state english
but you could read this
one:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_language
which state that some
considering Spanish 4th place & english third but also state that other sources considering
Spanish 2nd or third behind Hindi
http://www.krysstal.com/spoken.html
you
could use that one too
As you could see on those page it would be difficult to
determine either english or spanish....As it was stated from college profesors. A big
majority of USA population speak spanish in some states and they dont even use english as
1st language but 2nd. Then your numbers will go way down.
As for Mandarin, no doubt
about it and I was the first to point out that. As for Hindi, well it goes up and down as
the others.
By the way, there are no bigger language than other. Each one has his own
culture involve so that is a wrong way to state more people speak one language than others
(doenst matter what point of view you were talking cause the sole use of the word "Bigger
than yours" has its intrisic connotations and no matter what you tried to mean with
it)
From just this last reply, I decided to not reply anymore on this issue because
the result would be obvious, a big flame war and we dont want that
here.
Sincerely,
RG
PS: I use the expresion "Bigger than" on
porpuse...the more appropiate expresion would be "larger than"
PS2: But if the person
from last reply (before this one) is from Asia, you right I wont argue with that
Playstation2 is better than Playstation1
Get
