The WP-cheater issue (again)

But there at least 3 or 4 server that I had visited that

use the cloak mod for their admin ships. Well, I always want to believe in the good part of

people. Maybe, he really wants it for admin purpouse.

i see is a guy asking for the cloaking mod to use it to stop cheats in his server.
It's

pretty natural for admin to use it to find other cheaters without being seen.

if it the same clan i am

thinking of then wp has a record of there members cheating and the cloak mod is cheating but

then sum admin on sum servers ARE ALLOWED to use them

all the cloaks i

have seen and used have had anti cloaks in them aswell as a super powerful nomad laser

capeable of killing sumone useing a 3000 speed mod. and yes when i had this mod i was an

admin. and useing the cloak mod helps to spot cheaters being most will use a mod if they

think the admin aint watching and setting the server to stop spawning stuff helps as well

but i know sum modders and they have all ways been miles ahead of any server protection. so

sum times thebest way is the good old fashion way plain old hard work!!!

No one said that.
But if u use cloack u can travel around and follow

ppl u suspect cheat without them noticing.
I think that is very efective way to find a

cheater.

ventura it wud be a good way to check on suspected cheaters but as most of the fl community

regard cloaks as cheats even LR last time i checked forbid discussions about cloaks on the

forums wudnt a sp using it be just as bad as the cheater he is watchin?

dont any one hear relise what needs to be done sum times to catch cheaters??? u say an admin

useing cloaks is just as bad as the cheater?? how when the cheater is trying to cause

truble and will cause lag on the server and the admin is working for the server and dont

cause lag???

I am in complete agreement with

OP-R8R....
It was used by nomads and Reinland (when they were under control of the

nomads). I've seen the ini data base.
It should stay where it is. Only in the single

player game.
Using it in MP causes SERIOUS LAG ISSUES. I've personally seen this happen

on servers. I hate it with a passion and If it happened on my server...I'd make sure the

offending party using it was BANNED AT THEIR IP SOURCE SO THEY WOULD NEVER GET BACK ON

AGAIN.
Using one to catch one is absolutely ABSURD...IT WILL NOT WORK and In game the AI

still see them, NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS.
On one server where I've seen it used by

admins..it is no longer used. Anyone who uses it WILL BETRAY THEIR POSITION WHEN THEY FIRE

THEIR WEAPONS.
It is nothing but a cheat and that is all it will ever be.
Anyone

caught using it...(and there is ways to catch them with the IFSO) should be banned forever.
