  • I'm new to crossfire 2.0, and after starting a new game, i'm stuck on planet Manhattan because I can't buy any ship without the game crashing.

    EDITED
Well, I started a new game and suddenly i'm level 18 with a ship (contrary to level 0 without a ship in my other game), and when I try to buy a new one, it works. I guess it was a bad start...

  • I want to make sure everything is fine, is it normal that I start at level 14? There is no lead to the story, I just do missions and when i'll gain a level the story will start?

  • Moment .. we talk here about Open SP or Campaign, vanilla from start or new CF missions? Are you using some of your old SP savegames?

Open SP = no campaign, one from choices in launcher settings. Should be not ticked if you want to play campaign.
If you want not play through whole vanilla, you need to replay whole vanilla mission 13 ( should be best use last 12 mission save). CF missions are added as addition to vanilla 13 mission, was no other way how this can be done. ... still it is recommended start from scratch, alot nice new graphic around.
If you start new campaign, you will start from scratch and you must get ship from Juni.
Low (relative) lvl will stay through all campaign, once you finish it, you will jump to lvl 70 or so.

  • I wanted to play from scratch for sure..., it's just that after my first failed start, I clicked "open sp" by inadvertence since I can barely see the check mark. This, as you know, lead me to start level 14 (or 18, don't remember) in open sp. I unchecked "open sp" and started over thanks.

The initial problem was that I saved immediately after arriving, then quit. Upon reloading, Juni was nowhere to be found and if I tried to buy a ship, the game would crash.

This time around, I entered the bar immediately and she was there, i took her mission then saved. I'm super happy, for now I'm enjoying the better graphics, but i'm sure it's not the only thing i'll enjoy, and was that a galaxy map i saw??? Wow, i hope i'll have the strength not to play all summer...

  • You can spent with SP rly alot time if you will want see "all" :) ... as you can later, in CF added missions, use on few occasions pauses and look around.

  • Yes, i'll look around a lot, it's hard to do otherwise with the kill engine function working so well... I tried to do a whole battle by killing the engines and just strafing and punching the afterburner now and then, and it worked perfectly.

5 hours running non stop and not a single random crash, i'm impressed by the stability and quality for such a big and complex mod.
