Question: which of the 3 main T6 ships should I go with while not choosing the Dauntless

  • This was asked to Zone chat in ESD, but the people there were really unhelpful in saying "Delta Rising pack or nothing" since I only have enough money to spare for one ship and possibly an upgrade for my Rommy's ship that is eligible (the tactical Dyson Science Destroyer), for Razezea and possibly my other Starfleet toon that I'm still levelling, I'm thinking about the escort, but the cruiser also looks interesting (even though I have an entire build ready for escorts, not so much with cruisers).

Soooo..... Should I go with the cruiser, science vessel, or the escort?

  • I think you should wait.
After every ship pack they released so far new and better ships were introduced.
Thats just a matter of time.

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    This is ten percent luck,
    Twenty percent skill,
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will,
    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

  • alright, thanks. then another question: would it be worth the $10 to just upgrade 2 of my current ships?

  • no
but it would be worth to grind some EC and buy the ship upgrades right from the exchange
    average price is 9mio
but if you have luck you can get them cheaper
cheapest price i had was 500k ec

I would hold off also if you can not get the Delta pack but the Phantom escort is nice 8).

  • the phantom with the starship trait indeed looks good
but im not sure how reliable the ship really is

  • I bought the pack and have toons in all of the T6 ships (all 3 races) and one thing no one is talking about is the fact that when you unlock the ship mastery it becomes a trait that your toon can use in any ship. I am finding great benefit in cross training on as many T6 ships as possible just to unlock the mastery traits on my toon.

  • the thing is... which traits are useful

  • All of them are useful in their own way. I think the Fed ones are just ok with the tanking traits being the most useful. The Romulan ship traits are very good for DPS in a race that already has a DPS edge. The two Klingon ship traits don't synergize quite as well since one is more of a beam buff and the other a really good cannon buff. I am assuming more ships will be coming out with their won traits so we will see what combinations will prevail. For now, I wouldn't knock an additional ability that can improve my effectiveness, especially since I can slot 4 of these traits.

  • I first was very interested in the trait from the phantom... which reduced the cooldowns of tactical abilities.
    But Ive checked at meanwhile.
Since I use aux2bat config my cooldowns are already at the minimum.
So this trait wouldnt have any effect.

The Trait from the Benthan ship only has an effect on torpdos which i dont use on my main ship.

The Trait from the Hazari ship gives you extra damage but only if you receive heals or buffs from other players (so its not very relyable).

The battle ready trait from the eclipse gives you a defense and damage resistance rating buff that can stack 3 times... but nowhere i could find any information about how high this rating is.

The trait from the scyer gives a bonus to exotic damage and shield healing when tactical abilities are used... however again there is nowhere said how high this bonus might be. Next to that does this seem to be a very Sci based trait that does not make much sense on most of my ships.

The Dauntless has the radiant nanite could which is a team heal at very short range. The 25% heal rate is pretty low in my eyes and 3km range is way too short to make any sense in combat.

Last but not least there is the Gaurdian Cruiser which has a desperate repairs trait.
After the 3rd crit hit that you take you get a large heal on hull and shields. That does not sound bad actually but nowhere is stated how large this heal actually is and its said that you wont receive such a heal again "for a while".... where actually nowhere there is a clear definition for expression "for a while".

Most of the Trait descriptions are very vague and its hard to make a decision based on that.
50% of the traits have no or only minimal effect on my ships.
