  • Pretty nice :) I will post up what I am getting (probably

    final part tommorow) You got the same Motherboard that I did too. I opted for the 3800 AMD

    (Nitro has the 4000 [1] LOL)
    I didn't go with the SLI Video card at this time... And I

    got Muskin 3500 with heat spreaders. I haven't heard of that Power supply, I went with an

    Antec 550 True Watt.
    Hope if flies for you though!

  • Improve on your ram (1

    GB in dual channel), and you might want to consider an extra 12 cm papst casefan. An AMD64

    can become pretty hot, and if you take a 12 cm papst fan you will introduce some extra cool

    air in your case without adding much noise.

    You might want to swap the motherboard

    for a MSI K8N Neo4/SLI Platinum. This board has an onboard creative soundblaster 24 bits

    soundchip and provides the same functions as a PCI SB Live card.

    What kind of monitor

    are you gonna use? And speakers?

    It's just a game, and it will always remain a game

  • Thank you for your

    information. My config now (i added 1x RAM and a

    fan):

    ------------------------------------------
    CPU:
    [2] AMD Athlon 64 3200+

    0.09µ Sockel-939 boxed, 2.00GHz, 512kB Cache
    (ADA3200BIBOX)

    Board:
    ! This is

    the MSI K8N Neo4/SLI Platinum. They made a mistake in the description. The model number is

    MS-7100-20R.

    [2] MSI K8N SLI Platinum, nForce4 SLI (dual PC3200 DDR)

    (MS-7100-020)

    GPU:
    [2] MSI NX6600GT-TD128E, GeForce 6600 GT, 128MB GDDR3, DVI,

    TV-out, PCIe
    (MS-8983-010)

    Ram:
    [2] 2 x Samsung DIMM 512MB PC3200 DDR CL3

    (PC400)

    HD:
    [2] Hitachi Deskstar 7K250 160GB SATA

    (HDS722516VLSA80)

    Tower:
    [2] Cooler Master CAC-T05 Centurion 5 Midi-Tower Alu

    (ohne Netzteil)

    Power:
    [2] Tagan TG480-U01 480W ATX S-ATA

    ... or the Antec

    TrueControl 550, 550W ATX (761345-07555-8)?

    Casefan:
    [2] Papst 4412F/2GL Lüfter,

    119x119x25, 1600rpm, 94m³/h, 26dB(A),

    ------------------------------------------
    all together about 880 (dont want to

    get higher than 850-900)

    I will buy a SLI graphics card because later i maybe buy a

    second 6600 GT.

    My monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 1200NF, 22", recommended best

    resolution: 1600x1400@85

    I have 2 Sony speakers but i use headphones because my

    brother plays in the next room and both cant play with speakers because we will disturb each

    other.
    My headphones: Bose TriPort

    I don't fear anything.

  • maybe u could consider adding a new cpu cooler

    other than the one included in cpu box (is not the best cooler in world, u know...)
    my

    experience is this increases system stability and performance as much as a case fan with a

    somewhat minor increase in the computer noise level

    anyways, cool computer :)

    Bunny thinks Ed is not as cool as him

  • cpu: upgrade it to

    3500

    ram: forget samsung, get corsair, very good + lifetime guarantee 1gig is

    absolute minimum, for 1 gig, go for 2x512 for 2gig go 2x1gig

    board: forget msi, they

    over heat, gigabyte are good, and be sure its nforce3 pro chipset

    gpu: forget nvidia,

    i was an nvidia guy but after i tried ati ille never go back, get the x800 (sure its costy

    but is good) oh and forget msi, they overheat

    *by over heat ime serious, ive tried it

    myself and msi boards/gfx cards get much higher temps than other manufec..

    hdd:

    seagate are good even maxtor

    tower: just make sure its spacious, coolermaster are

    great

    psu: 480w is too low for that kind of pc, get a pure power psu from

    thermaltake.. 550w MINIMUM, the more the better

    casefan/cooling: forget fans, just

    use the fans that come with the case for the case, as for cpu/gpu get watercooling.. i did

    that, its amazing, got a 30deg celsius drop with an aquarius2 (thermaltake) (and it wont

    short your pc, just make sure you use DISTILLED WATER (and not the crappy ones))

  • I think the power supply is great. Tagan is eyual to Enermax supplies. Except not many

    people now about it because is german company. And i think the 480W is enough. My config

    is:
    MB= Abit KV8Pro 3rd Eye
    CPU=AMD64 3000+ (S754)
    COOLER= BOX [10]
    RAM=2x

    Geil Value 512MB PC3200
    GFX= Sapphire Radeon 9800SE@98900Pro (Softmod)
    GFX COOLER=

    Zalman ZM80D-HP + ZM-OP1
    HDD= Seagate 120GB ATA100 8mb Cache
    CASE=Antec PlusView

    1000AMG
    POWER=Antec True Power 430W
    CASEFAN= 4x YS Tech 80mm
    FANCONTROL=ZAKMAN

    ZM-MFC1

    All fans run on minimum and the temp never excedes 45°C. I have 2 optical

    drives and one more disk will come in a few days. And I still have more power than I need.

    So I would say 550W is a waste of money. The PC would also run on a good 350W supply.

  • 350 W would not be enough because of the combination of AMD 64 3200+ and the

    6600GT. im going to buy a second SLI 6600GT in the future, so 480W are

    minimum.

    Avenger: nice suggestions but i dont want to get higher than 900. i will

    upgrade my system if components like the CPU, RAM, etc. become cheaper. i always bought ATI,

    but now nvidia is better in midrange-graphic cards. and ATI has no SLI...
    tower: because

    i sometimes visit lan-partys i dont will buy a big tower. you will never need the space of

    big tower... my brother has one, and there is so much space, which isnt needed....

    how much is a watercooling system?

    I don't fear anything.

  • Look at the link! I hope u'll see what I want to say. Procesor takes around 90W and

    6600GT takes around 50W. So two take 100W. That all takeslet's say 200W. If u have a good

    400W supply you have 200W to play with. And i don't think u will spend so much power :)

    BTW I'll rather buy one x800 or x850 and it's a lot better than 2 6600GT. Or if u

    insist on nVidia than take 6800GT. U will get better performance and less heat. And you can

    buy a cheaper board because u don't need

    SLI.

    Power consumption test!

  • ok, enough

    power :-).

    look at this test:

    New Graphic Cards Test

    i will buy 6600 GT, and later,

    when the 6800 GT is cheaper, i can buy 1 or 2. my system is very upgradeable. i can upgrade

    the CPU and GPU in about 1 year... ;-)

    I don't fear anything.
