I sometimes get a kick out of the way The news blows stuff out of proportion. I saw this on the news. "The rock meteorite detonated in the upper atmosphere with the force of 50 Hiroshima nuclear bombs". I like the way they used the word "Detonated" instead of broke apart, or disintergrated. And "50 Nuclear Bombs" Well Hummm.....LOL

Yep, an atmospheric "detonation" of anything with the force of 50 hiroshima bombs would level several hundred miles/kilometers squared. This meteorite simply wasn't that big and "we" are lucky it didn't impact the ground directly, which would have potentially serious loss of life.
