Best SP ship (for me)

    Im new to the Forums, but im an old FL fan. I played only SP till now, dont have time for any serious MP experience.
    I searched the forums but found no answer to my question:
    Now (in 1.9) the pilot lvl restrictions for buying ships are no more. So id like to hear your opinion about
    a nice ship for SP to fit my flying style for best experience.
    Well, im not a missile user (too much multitasking ;P) and i think this whole "three torpedo/CD slots" thing is pretty useless in SP.
    I like fast, maneuverable ships with best possible firepower. Armor is not important. Powerplant should be sufficient, i like to spray´n´pray (aim is not so good)
    Oh and pls no pink eagles, this things outline is still burned on my retina....


    Im still at the beginning of the vanilla campaign, so it should be a sirius ship. I fount the Butcher on Freistadt, like the design, would it fit to my description?
    And dont spoiler the location pls, just the ship name and specs. Ill find it myself 8).

    welcome here and in CF space. FYI in CF is more good enough ships for SP, you can prefer design or anything you like and still this will be OK for going through SP Campaign. However what you mentioned about torpedoes, missiles .... is one part in storyline where you could be happy for some heavy torps like Sunslayer Launcher.


    For ships ... maybe


    Predator or Shroud can be nice ship with good stats. Ofc are more nice ones, in CF is not The best ship.

    Komodo Dragon has a nice set of guns/turrets + an appropriate powerplant.
    Mayfly has a generic gun set powered by a better generator than those of other fighters.


    The design of these two might be a problem though :verrueckt: As a universal solution, look for Reaper - I guarantee the ultimate awesomeness of this ship :thumbup:


    P.S. Try Chimera if you want to take less enemy fire on you.

    Hm, the Chimera sounds good to me, but i havent found it yet. Going to stick with my Dark Angel for a while, or maybe get a good old Sabre from Malta.


    Has anyone had experience with the Butcher? I like the design, it reminds me of EVE caldari ships.


    And the mayfly looks like the abandoned offspring of a toaster and a Cylon 1.0

    I saw Butcher few times in action and it is good ship. If you do not need big cargo, then is it worth try.
